The HVAC Pipe Sizer Plus application is a combination of three (3) of our individual pipe sizing applications including: 1. HVAC Pipe Sizer - Liquid 2. HVAC Pipe Sizer - Steam 3. HVAC Pipe Sizer - Gas Plus This app is a universal app that works on both the iPhone and iPad and adjusts its screen size accordingly. The "HVAC Pipe Sizer - Gas" module allows you to quickly size a simple low (less than or equal to 1.5 psi) and high (greater than 1.5 psi) pressure gas piping system by inputting a number of piping and gas properties. The "HVAC Pipe Sizer - Steam" module allows you to size a steam pipe run, and it also includes a bonus steam table calculator. The "HVAC Pipe Sizer - Liquid" module allows you to size a pipe run with many different types of liquids (or fluids), pipe material and fitting types. This app also includes the HVAC Equipment Locator. It also allows you to specify different types of liquids, gases, pipe material types, fitting quantities, min and max ranges, and step values. Great Pipe Sizing App

I work in HVAC design, and this app works well with other tools used to size piping. It does require background knowledge in order to decide on the selection parameters, but once you get that background this saves a lot of time by consolidating a bunch of pipe sizing resources.

I would make two changes:

For liquid pipe sizing, it is often the case that two limiting parameters (friction & diameter) are used at the same time. The functionality that should be available is to set the app to select the size based on a maximum friction value AND a maximum velocity.

For liquid type, it is common for hydronic systems to use a propylene glycol solution. This is currently not an option in your liquids menu but would help in making pipe selections. I would suggest a liquid type “propylene glycol solution” and simply add a “percentage concentration” of propylene glycol to the liquid parameters within this type.
