If you don't like this game, you've obviously never played rod or bubble hockey. It's not supposed to be a hockey sim; it's supposed to be a sim of an arcade game.
I had a rod hockey game when I was growing up. I've always wanted a bubble hockey game for my basement, but those can cost upwards of $1,000. Now I have an amazing re-creation in the palm of my hand.
The graphics, sound, and physics are all very authentic. The controls may take some getting used to, but so do the rods on an actual, physical version you might find in an arcade, and once you get the hang of it, this game quickly becomes addictive and compelling.
Also, the customization options seem virtually endless. I've had a lot of fun just importing various logos and doing my best to duplicate the uniforms of my favorite pro and college teams.

This game is great! The only problem is that you can't do season mode. Probably because no real players. If this game also had penalties, it would be great! One time, I was playing and I won 4-1. Blowout! It also is great because you can make teams. I made a team called Warner Bros. (The logo is the Warner Bros. logo.), a team called the Bruins, a team called Candy Doodle, and a team called the Capitals. I also have over 30 goals for my center, and my goalie's GAA is like 1.29. But, if Stinger made an update it would be better. It would probably have season mode, franchise mode, and WAY, WAY more. So now do you see why I give it 5 stars? :PShow lessReview Person26

With a little practice, one gets pretty good with the controls. Fun game, never gets old! Puck needs another setting for less bouncy. Request: An option for a best of seven tournament, same control settings for tournament as for single games, and an option for three periods as in real hockey. Also, is it possible make the computer a tougher competitor when you want it? I rarely lose anymore.Show lessScottSez

Puck glide
This app is a great start, but feel the controls are a little difficult. The puck glide should have a sensitivity bar as ifeel that it glides way to fast. You try to just budge it and it glides to the other team. Being able to put your own logos on the team and customize jerseys was the kicker for me. Add an adjustable puck glide sensitivity bar and i would give 5 stars.
Oh yeah being able to listen to my ipod while im playing is great also thanks guys . One more thing... On the customization, dont for get to add helmet color, so your helmet doesnt have to match the jersey colorShow lessSkinnydog13

I saw an ad for it in a mac magazine and downloaded it immediately.
I love it, but have one suggestion....When I would play SuperChexx bubble/table hockey in arcades as a kid, i remember how the right wing for each team would be positioned in a way to have a much longer stick and blade. because of this, one could use physics to have that player have the most control over the puck, and often the hardest shots, giving more of a skill element to the game (as opposed to luck). Good game!!!
I luv this game. But when I shot the puck it went in but went around the net and came out and didn't count. Also I shot the puck in and it bounced and landed rite behind the goalie who waited for it to become a faceoff. I agree with jackduggan there should be 8 teams in the tourney. Just pleez make it like real hockey where if the puck makes it past the red line it's a goal
Oh yeah when the other team scores they tend to hang on to it when their wingmen get the puck pleez fix tht 2

This is one of the best iPhone games I've come across. Feels just like playing table hockey. Intuative contols. Good A.I. People who are saying poor controls are probaly not used to playing table hockey. The controls are just as delicate. It is not a pick up and play game you must invest time to get the full potential of the game.

Stinger Table Hockey
No ice hockey games for the iPhone so I was looking forward to this. Alas no- Horrible controls and horrible gameplay. It would suit a real table game perfectly but as a video game it just feels too restricted. Controls consist of lots of fumbling and the puck rebounds off the player as soon as you move him making it very difficult to contain the puck and have any sort of control with it. Not fun, just restrictive and frustrating.
EA Sports need to wake up and release their NHL franchise for the iPhone. They have released FIFA, NBA, Tiger Woods PGA and NFL but still no NHL.... How much longer do we have to wait?Show lessMike 007 Blackhawk
