  • Good if you're trying to save data

This is the same as going to the d20pfsrd site, except the core book and advanced guide are separate. The search function is nice (but could use features like highlighting the search terms on the result page) but otherwise, you might as well save the money and just bookmark the above mentioned website.

However, if you're on a tiered data plan, or don't have 3G or wifi where you play, then you will find much more value in this application.

More features would definitely make this worth every penny. I appreciate the time put into developing the application, but it's not especially different from browsing the website.

  • Upgrading to 4 stars, great app!

This is an indispensable reference. It's faster and easier than using the PRD online, and of course it's indispensable when off line. And $2 total for the APG and GMG is well worth it.

If the app didn't crash when I go to bookmarks, I'd give it 5 stars. If it the bestiary books were available, I'd overlook the bookmarks problem and give it 5 stars anyway!

  • A definite must have app for Pathfinder DMs!

This is an incredible app, easy to use, etc. I HIGHLY recommend downloading the extra info for $2. The whole package is definitely worth it. Especially when you're running a game with Good reader and need to swap out to check a stat or something in the Core Rules, etc. Totally awesome!
  • Needs Work

As a basic rules reference, this app is excellent. The price tag ($5) is a tad high when you consider the wealth of rules that (will soon) make up the Pathfinder Reference Document; this app only covers the original core rules release (August 2009). I suppose price will come down when someone makes a more encomapssing app, until then this is all we have.

The interface works, but needs improvement. The ability to mark any portion of the sometimes extremely long pages is only featured after searching for a specific term. Also, an app like this needs to compete with flipping through pages in order to be useful; more menu options would be desirable.

All in all, I'm not disappointed with the purchase, but I am disappointed with the lack of support this app has seen in the last year.

  • Just missing a couple of things

If there is one thing you could change that would add another star is to make it so that the navigation buttons don't disappear in landscape mode. It's really annoying to have to go to portrait mode just to press the back button, it really hampers my experience. I'm glad you took out the background image, as I was constantly wiping my screen because I thought it was a smudge.

I'd also really like it if spell lists for classes were their own page, as that would allow me to have the spells for my class under a bookmark as opposed to having to scroll all the way down the spell lists to find a certain class.

Finally, if there was some way I could fill in a blank character sheet and could save it and edit it later I would be incredibly happy.

  • Quick & easy

Easy to use and fast. Better than flipping through the book to find the right info.

If I had to offer a suggestion for improvement it would be to add a "back" button to return to the last search criteria list or to have a few specialized search functions to narrow the criteria so that I can search only the spells section or the monsters section without having to wait for the entire document to be searched.

  • An excellent reference document

I tested it last night, and the search got me answers faster than players leafing through books. I'd liketo see support for the ipad: right now it is just an iPhone emulation on the larger screen, which makes the text very small. Great job and keep up the good work. Also nice to see feedback yielding updates that improve the product.

  • Great start!

I bought this after much consideration and have used it constantly. Sure I can always go online to look at the rules for free but using the app is much faster and easier to navigate. There's much hope for what else this app could be able to do in the future but I say it's worth every penny as is.
  • Great app!

Want to find a way to make your d&d buddies buy an iPhone? Buy this app!! And for 4.99 you can't beat it if you bought all these books they would cost over $70 the monster section is not complete but the core rule book is!! If you play pathfinder buy this app!!
  • Great start

Great start. In order to seperate itself however from using a PDF document reader it would be nice if you could bookmark a specific area rather than a chapter. For instance, I would like to bookmark the AOO table in the combat section. Instead when clicking on the bookmark it takes me to the beginning if the combat section. Make these improvements and it would be more worth the $5.

Rating changed to reflect the updates which fixed some of my suggestions. This developer is working hard and it shows.
