Only for major storms

I’m disappointed in this app. If you are interested only in named storms of Tropical Storm strength or higher which threaten the US mainland, then it’s for you. But there is little to no reporting of Potential Tropical Disturbances or Tropical Depressions, nor of full-blown hurricanes that are not threatening the Us mainland. (The info on Hurricane Oscar, currently parked over Cuba, is over 48 hours old and the site it reporting “no threat to land”.) Given the quick growth of storms in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico this season, we need earlier and more current information. And unless you pay for the Premium graphics, you get basically a reposting of info already available from the National Hurricane Center.

Hurricane tracker

Best app out there right now. I live in Corpus Christi Tx. Used this app during Harvey. It's the best app out there. I deleted the other hurricane apps that I had. Keep up the good work. We , on the gulf coast need this app. Thank you for your work. Just wanted to thank you for all the work you do on this app. It's still the best one out there. This app. Was so useful to me this hurricane season. Thanks again.

New premium service login is a pain

I used to enjoy using Hurricane Tracker but I recently purchased a lifetime subscription for the premium service since we live on the coast. The app is now continuously displaying a popup screen for buying premium even though it should know I have already purchased this. Once I get past that screen, it then asks me to login. Why doesn’t it remember this? Plus the login is confusing since I forget it wants a login ID rather than an email. This premium service was not a smooth rollout. Hope to see improvements in the future.

Not interested in another subscription app

I paid for the basic version of this app. Now that version is free and the developer is financing things through a subscription service with higher quality maps. I don't need that. I just need timely status updates with basic map graphics. It currently is Tuesday night and I am trying to access the latest status of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Debby. The last status update on Hurricane Tracker is from a day and a half ago. 36 hours and growing is an unacceptably long time when a storm like this is heading straight for one's location. But I am getting those push notifications to subscribe to the premium graphics option on a regular basis and with no delay. Very disappointing.

Great App, but….

This is a great app and I’ve been using it for several years. I found it to be particularly accurate when Hurricane Ian hit my area in September 2022. My one complaint now is the constant hounding to users to purchase the advanced graphics. It’s annoying to have to click past the huge pop-up prompting us to buy the advanced graphics every time we use the app. Your pop-up is as bad as an advert on an app or the prompting for a tip on so many things these days. If not for that, I would have rated the app a 5 star.

Too many ads and pop ups to upsell user. This is new this year and very annoying!

I am a long term user of this app and agree with all of the other users. All of a sudden this year they have started with a frequent barrage of ads trying to upsell you to their subscription model. The entire non-hurricane season there were constant push notifications to get you to pay. I bought this app and only want the basic features but DO NOT WANT a constant annoyance of pop ups and push notifications.

Paid upgrade is confusing

I paid for the upgraded graphics. Was emailed a confirmation with my user ID and password. There is nowhere in the app to enter a user ID or password and the app keeps promoting the upgrade that I already paid for. Using the “Contact” link in the app sends an email that is rejected with a “Mailbox full” error, but it actually goes through. Got a response from them saying that if you buy the upgrade in the app, then you’re automatically logged in. You can verify this by selecting the Premium tab. It’s all very confusing. As others have said, the content is great but the app is far from user friendly.

Response from developer

If you upgraded in the app you are automatically logged into premium and do not have to enter your information at this time. Click on "premium" in the upper right hand corner and it should say "User Logged In". It also says this in the email we sent you. Thanks!

Best hurricane app I’ve found

I’ve been using this app for years. I tried some other apps and this is my go to app for hurricane information. I show it to other people on my phone and everybody loves it wants it and it’s just the greatest app ever.

Instant updates

Being able to get and instant update is great. Having to wait for the news to update you on the weather can be really frustrating.
