Leave a Review Scanner App
Very Pleased!
July 3, 2024: I was a former Evernote Scannable app user who was looking for an alternative after Scannable started forcing its user to create an account and/or pay for their scanning service. Disappointed with the change, I kept an eye out for alternatives for a while. I wanted a scanning app that can scan quickly, cleanly, and save it as a JPG or PDF.
Someone on Reddit recommended Genius Scan. I tried out the app and did a test scan, and it was perfect for what I needed! The scanning feature is free, and their additional premium features/services seems like a reasonable price model.
I hope Genius Scan will continue to keep their business model where scanning will always be a free feature. Thank you for your app! It’s a life saver when trying to send digital copies of documents or trying to archive important things.Show lessAbsolutely essential to my life - unparalleled in quality.
I don’t believe I’ve ever written a review on an app. I’m taking the time to write this because this app is THAT outstanding. It’s become essential to my daily life. I regularly need to scan documents in and then access them via my computer. I considered buying a more expensive scanner, but with this app, there is simply no need. If I hold my camera at the wrong angle, Genius Scan fixes it for me. It compensates for angles and bumps and misalignments and churns out an absolutely professional looking scan in seconds. It’s so accurate, it genuinely looks like it was a saved document, never having been printed and scanned. If, for some reason, my document is wonky and scans a weird edge, Genius scan lets me fix it.
Over and above its perfect scans, it allows me to export…down to the very subfolder… of my Google Drive, my Microsoft OneDrive and even my Apple Files. I can email it to myself or someone else. It’s just seamless. I’m continually more and more impressed with this app and it’s saved me so much time and money, I cannot be more thankful for this app. Well done, devs, well done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Show lessMixed feelings
Update: After the developers responded, I took a closer look at the user manual and tried it again. The hotspot is no longer a problem (that one is a puzzle, since I didn’t do anything), file naming help was there after all, and works VERY well (using a field to insert part of the name each time). And I got authorized to give Google permissions to view and download all my files, which makes me very uncomfortable, but it makes this project work like a dream.
I was thrilled with how well Genius Scan autocrops documents—would save me a lot of time! However, subscribing was a big disappointment. I expected file naming help, and got none, am finding hot spots (lighter scan) on documents no matter how I arrange lighting, and worst of all, exporting to Google Drive (which I REALLY wanted) is impossible because I refuse to give Genius Scan access and permission to download all of my files. So all in all, guess I’ll be going back to Google Scan.Show lessDeveloper Response
