Very unstable app. Would crash when I tried to pan around the maps manually. In the app world this one is a BIG waste of your money.
Not Great
Downloaded this for iPad as wanted it for Thames navigation. Has not recognised my downloaded maps so every time you boot it ups says no downloaded maps and to make matters worse it crashes pretty much every time I start trying to use the map I have downloaded. Missed opportunity.
Good customer support
I've been using this app since first come out. Suddenly app crashed when I was on the move and unable to load the maps at all even after restarting the device many times. I immediately emailed their customer support regarding the problem. I got a reply within 4 hrs from their support stating that they were doing technical repairs because of that app was crashing and restricting map downloads. They regret for the trouble. They also suggested me to wait for 1/2 an hour for activation.
Finally I'm happy they responded with a solution. Now everything is working fine like before. Thanks!!!

Complete waste of $20 - crashes and doesn't have maps it says it does
This app is a complete waste of money and time - do not listen to the review posted by others.
I just forked out $20 for the full version on the promise that i could download any other map for free. I can't even get to the point of looking at a map because as soon as I try to look at a map (in any view - offline, google, satellite, hybrid) the app just crashes.
Even if it didn't crash, the product description is inaccurate as it says there is a map of Mauritius available but after i paid for the app, it turns out there isn't a map of Mauritius available so now i am frustrated on vacation ahead of my road trip around the island tomorrow which makes it even more annoying.
Despite this i persevered, wanting to see how this thing worked given all the good reviews so i downloaded the map of Ireland and it won't load either.
One of the reviews that gave this app a one star said that all the good reviews were phony and that the people that wrote them only did reviews for this app. I think he must have been right. I don't know if apple read these reviews or force companies with false advertising to give customers their money back, but i feel robbed and would like my money back. First disappointing app experience with apple and the first time the app store reviews have not been helpful. I hope this one is to some people.

Wow!
I have been using this app since July this year and I am delighted with the product. Last week we went to boating after that hiking and used it to track our directions. It is a great too1 with an extensive accuracy and also database is very useful. This is a great value and I highly recommend it!
Total waste of money!
Bought this last weekend for my iPad and tried all weekend to get it to work. It crashes continually. I can't zoom in or pan without winding up on the desktop. I have complained to the Ap Store and to FlyToMap tech support. They haven't even acknowledged receipt of my complaints. I don't understand why there are so many good reviews while more than a few of us can't make it work at all!!! I have extensive offshore sailing experience using GPS, LORAN, SAT NAV and celestial navigation so I'm no novice...I'm just baffled at the callous lack of response by Apple's Ap Store and FlyToMap!!!

If only it kept running
This program may have great content but it doesn't stay running long enough for me to find out.
An example I have of the flakiness of this app is when you go to a map and want to move to a location off screen it will try and then just stop running, close the app and drop you into you iPad desktop with no indication of why or what.
I have communicated this to the developer but they are as silent as their app in the face of failure.

After using the app for a week in Glacier National Park, I have changed my mind to some extent about this program (my original review had a number of complaints). Roads and topo lines (which I find useful) are off by default whereas the Acadia NP map I purchased last year had them on. So, I'll give 'em that.
However, it seems to crash in any view besides 'offline' when trying to move around and occasionally crashes in offline mode as well.
Ought to be better for $20.
