Do your kid a favor, buy it!
This is a fantastic app for kids. My 16 month old is young for the concepts, but LOVES the interface and sounds. My 3 year old nephew had to be pulled away at the end of the day because he was so engaged in tracing his letters and moving the red rods. I have worked through all of the exercises myself because it's such a great interface.
I'm new to most Montessori concepts, but am becoming a believer through this extremely intuitive and beautifully designed application.

Love it!
My daughter has been in a Montessori program for the past two years and she really loves this application. It keeps her busy while we're waiting for her brother and sister to finish their swimming lessons and I don't have to worry about her wanting to jump in the water with them. During the summer, she misses her Montessori classroom and I think this app makes her feel at home. I'm looking forward to more apps like this one. Thanks!

Beautifully designed
I've been looking forward to the release of this for a few weeks now, having first been alerted to its development via the blog of a graphic designer I admire. So many children's apps are garish - Comic Sans and every colour of the rainbow - so the screenshots the developers had posted on their website were enough for me want to buy the app.
Haven't yet let my child loose on it, but have just worked through the five sections myself to gauge it appropriateness for him. It is beautiful. The American female voice talent is fairly inoffensive to Australian ears - I don't know my regional accents but I'm guessing NW or NE, so it's not too grating.
The exercises seem like they'll be suitable for my 4yo. I did my best to 'bug test' the app, and it handled everything I threw at it with aplomb. However the tracing exercise (shown in the Screenshots with '2' on a green background) did seem to shave some sort of bug, behaving as if I'd gone too far off course when I was squarely in the middle of the figure's line and tracing in the direction shown. Hopefully this is something that will be able to be addressed in a subsequent version.
I'm not familiar with Montessori methods, so can't comment on how well it fits within that approach to education. But I think it should appeal to most kids and parents who think an iPhone or iPad is an appropriate education tool, regardless of particular views on education methodologies.
So all in all, first impressions are pretty good - hopefully my son enjoys it!

At Last!
I have been hoping someone would come along with an app like this. What a great way to introduce parents to some of the fascinating learning materials and techniques found in Montessori classrooms. And my three kids love it! The app is easy to use, elegant, and beautiful. (Oh yeah, and educational--but don't tell the kids.) I highly recommend this for children AND parents.

Terrific for learning
I happened upon this app today and must say that it is a great extension of the Montessori method. It is intuitive and challenging for children yet seems to follow the same general principles of the Montessori method in the classroom. I think it is a great innovation of Dr. Montessori's method in this, our technology age, and will be extremely useful to growing children. Please, more apps like this one!
