App is slow and crashing
Slow response
What the heck happened to this app? It was a decent and responsive app with Qobuz but now it is slow. Takes forever to show the current song playing. Tapping on the song playing takes many seconds to change to the full screen song page. I don’t see any big changes in features just slower and laggy.
Feature loss with update
At least one feature is gone, the alarm.
Flaky at times
App used for ndx2 muso2 qbx2 uniti hd. App operates relatively smoothly but with certain radio stations the artist title doesn’t change to the current song ie staying the same from three previous songs. But a app for recognising artist and song is more precise in real time. It’s frustrating when you want to know the information on the song ie who is playing and title of track. Also app wants bluetooth to be switched on which will drastically reduce your battery performance no matter what device is used. There is also lag issues with multi room usage when music playing between devices and drop out ie muso stop playing for few seconds then continue playing with severally lagging behind main music system. All of the above issues don’t happen frequently just happens when it happens so not reliable and frustrating when it occurs ,which takes away the joy from the experience that comes from naim equipment when it works flawlessly.

Headphones Disconnected
This is as far as I can get… I can switch over the EQ if I’m fast enough, but this error pops up every time after about 5 seconds. I think this is because the headphones were paired already and the app tried to pair them again - which I cancelled. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still having issues.

Tuner - Radio streaming doesn’t work
Totally hacked off at the delay in getting their Radio offering on the app updated. Emailed support months ago and they know about the issue where the app takes an eon to load radio stations. Said an upgrade was being worked on but still we’re waiting. Having to use multiple apps to air play radio and in the unlikely event that the station I want to listen to finally loads, as soon as you use another source, you have to start the load again. Unreliable connection to AirPlay also and whilst I love the sound quality of both Naim devices, am seriously considering another brand. It shouldn’t be this hard.

Focal Bathy volume problem
I purchased a pair of Focal Bathy headphones from Richer Sounds and now having been using them regularly for over a month, I’ve noticed an issue with them. Basically it’s with the volume adjustment and finding the headphones either too quiet or too loud. I just want to be able to turn them up by a small amount, but the jump up in volume at this point is too large and overpowering. It goes from not quite loud enough" to "too loud" quickly, (in one volume step) there’s simply not enough adjustment range . At the moment, I just cannot enjoy listening to them. A firmware update could solve this problem as I’m not the only one with this issue. Having seen it described online by quite a few other uses on different headphone forums so it’s not only me.
It turns out these headphones only have 16 increments of volume whilst most other headphones including my Sony’s have 32 increments of volume allowing for fine adjustment.

Editing artist name more difficult
The latest version will no longer accept a selection of the artist name. The artist name now needs to be written in full. And correctly

Very happy
The Naim app has been very reliable on both my previous ND5XS and current NDX2, both hard wired as I have never tried wireless. I connect to a NAS and Tidal mainly. I would have given this review 4.5 stars if I was able, as once you are playing an album on the NAS drive there is no short cut to take you back to index again. The streamers are very popular but there are very few reviews comparatively for the app, why is that?

Just Want Tone Controls
Yes we understand this is supposed to be an “audiophile” amplifier and Naim don’t like tone controls as they want their sound to be “natural”. But we all have different tastes, speakers and rooms. Adding a bass and treble control wouldn’t be that hard surely and make it so it can be turned on or off by the user so they can make the choice. Great amp, built like a tank, brilliant screen and app but just missing that one thing. IMO.
