Great Hardware, Frustrating Application.

I experience occasional dropouts when using the app, but the most frustrating aspect to me is that i essentially need to use the app all the time to stream to my uniti atom he. When I search for qobuz albums in the app by artist, I get a whole bunch of junk that I wouldn’t get if I were using the native qobuz app. My main streaming service is Apple Music and while I know it’s not naim’s fault they don’t allow for lossless music streaming direct to the device, I wish it would at least be easier to search the qobuz catalogue within the app. As it stands, using the app feels clunky and I did not spend $11000 CAD + for this level of experience. When I can, I always buy and download my music to my Plex server and that works great with the naim app. But with no USB in (this would have solved EVERYTHING), I’m tied to the naim app, which has really detracted from the idea of forgetting about everything else and being in touch with the music. App fails to maintain connection with Focal headphones

Focal Bathys headphones connected find and setup with the app install. Then when I reinstalled the app with a new phone months later the app will not maintain connection to the headphones to enable any changes. There seems to be no way to get support for these products or the app unless I write a review.

Does not connect

I have new Focal Bathys that pair with my iPhone through the Bluetooth menu in iOS Settings. However, pairing through the app simply does not work, even after starting from scratch. The Bathys headphones sound great but this app is dysfunctional.

Actually works perfectly (Was: New version 6.61 has issues)

What I previously wrote: "The app will not play tracks since the 6.61 update earlier today. Everything else looks normal, but pressing the play arrow does nothing."

What I just discovered: There is nothing wrong with the app whatsoever. In fact, it works flawlessly on both my iPhone and iPad. The problem I encountered was in my Naim Uniti Core, not the app. After rebooting the Core by unplugging and replugging it in, the problem disappeared.

Hopelessly unreliable

Endless issues. Some days it works, some days it doesn’t. Some updates work for a while, then it all falls over. I’ve spent more time resetting connections and fiddling with issues than listening to music. Decent sound from Naim Mu-so is ruined by this horrible app to the point where I’m selling the whole system …

Great hardware held back by dysfunctional apps

The Naim and focal have great hardware, which i have enjoyed immensely. But the apple apps, both on the IPad and iphone, are dysfunctional. At the moment, the IPad app stopped recognizing my Naim Uniti Atom. The app frequently stopped functioning properly and I have to reboot my iPad or phone. It is real pity that the focal great speakers and the Naim streamers are great but the apps are unfortunately not up to the hardware standards.

Why the bad reviews?

I’ve been a Naim user for over a decade. During the early years of the original Uniti, the app sometimes fell over and wasn’t always responsive. But in recent years, the app has been flawless. It is stable, user friendly and more logical in structure than other streaming apps I use. I struggle to understand why others appear to have so many issues.
Perhaps one difference is that my setup is hard-wired. I use a Uniti Nova in one room and a Muso Qb 2 in another. For both devices, the app has proven to be reliably excellent.
The only constructive criticism is that I wish the volume could be controlled from my iPhone (like other apps). And, as a Tidal user, I would love know when we can finally access hi-res flac. Is there an update on the latter?

Bad

After recent update / firmware, the speakers are Unable to connect to wifi..

Focal Bathys app

Was hesitant after reading bad reviews. Just got Bathys cans, needed the firmware update so downloaded the app. Installed fine, opened up and quickly found my cans, auto prompted the update, ran it and installed via bluetooth. Set up the bathys quickly with a hearing test. Was impressed. Had absolutely NO issues with the app. Maybe others here had issues due to the hardware? Functions are limited, but how much do you need? Controls the eq, LED, and the ANC. Works fine for my needs. Thanks for a well made app.
