Not free at all
Don't mind paying for an app, but don't act like its free and demand to be paid an "upgrade" less than a minute into the game. At that point, you don't know if it's any good or not. Definitely don't recommend. If you want to be a paid game, then set it up that way. Complete false advertisement.
Turbo version of the 80s Taipan!
Pure replica of Taipan but thankfully with a turbo version for the ship battles. Fun and quick entertainment - thanks so much for a great game!

I am having so much fun playing again - and YES, it's just as I remembered. App is stable and functional and I can play all day. Not that I'm admitting anything.

I love this game. It takes me back to when I was in my single digits and Dad had just gotten the IIc. I used to keep the IIc running for days at a time, hoping a power failure didn't happen. I love the turbo feature, allowing the player to skip past hours of ship battle. And the auto save is a godsend. Today I essentially beat the game. I got ALL the money! Over 999 Trillion. It even displays in the bank line "All of it". I can keep playing, so now I'm going to see how big my ship can get, how many guns I can amass, and how long I can keep my shipping company "afloat."

I used to play this game all the time on my Apple ][. Loved it. And this is so like the original. Now I play it all the time on my phone. I hope they come up with more of those old games.

Would have paid 99c - $1.50 for this slice of nostalgia up front, but the unannounced 5 minute sting asking $3.79 is a joke. Simply won't buy on principal. Easier to play for free on a website. Dirk Struan doesn't approve!

... Then you pay. Well, 12 turns is enough for me. Good game; back in the day. In modern times, I'll happily blow my three bucks on something better although, I'd buy this for a dollar :)
