  • Improving your app

It might be quite a challenge to get your product to this level, but it would be a thousand times better if instead of the person selecting the duration of his musical notes, your app had an automatic length of time feature for each key you play in the piano app; this would make composition faster. The manual system should be used only if desired or to fix misreadings of the automatic system.

  • Really good app. But crashes often, but saves more often

No hate on this app, and I can’t really blame it for crashing when my song is 600kb and a normal song is maybe 25kb. but it has a few issues that make it not 5 stars.

    Major:

    1. If you play the same measure three times before letting it finish the measure, it just dies on the spot, it saves your work very often. Just really annoying if you’re trying to hear a specific chord, and it just died.

    2. It no longer registers that I want to send a file to my email. PDF works fine, but I don’t want to copy over a 600kb song myself over to another program.

    Minor:

    3. Instruments sometimes do not load until you switch it to something else, play the song for about a measure, then switch it back. Usually happens for the weirder instruments like Fx crystal and ocarina.

    4. Related to 3. Some of the instruments do not have similar base decibel values, the ocarina is barely audible at ~80% where the harmonica is over powering at ~70%.

    5. This only happened to me once, the player started spazzing out and having no idea how to display my song while playing, then it started looping a part of my song over and over again. Eventually it decided to just stop playing. I recorded it, and that is most likely the cause. Again, only happened once.

    Suggestions:

    1. Please merge the slur and tie keys, if you want fancy playing on two notes, then there are articulation symbols for that to change the playback.

    2. Please resample the string instruments, and up the sample rate. It sounds like you only sampled the open strings, which is sufficient but sounds metallic.

    3. Copy and paste between songs please, I wanted to make themes for a brother and sister, but couldn’t copy melodies between the two to make them similar. Or even just a clipboard that holds multiple melodies.

    4. Since changing the concert key already gives the option to transpose the whole song, why not add this feature to the mid-song key changes too.

    Praise:

Other than this it is a great program. Glad it finally decided to have dynamics do something now.
The transpose notes tool is fun, a bit messy to use on a phone, but that’s more my phones fault.
It’s fun to see my ideas for background music come to life. I have easily spent 45+ hours of time in this app and have only had the app for 2-3 years.

Thanks for the easiest to use music app I’ve seen,
    Utamari
