I love/hate this app.
Modizer has some awesome things about it and some terrible things about it. The awesome is that it plays just about all of the modern file formats used for legacy game music. You can literally have thousands of game soundtracks from platforms like NES, Genesis, and arcade, to less popular stuff like Atari ST, PC-88, and MSX. The interface for adding new OSTs is intuitive, the tracks are usually bit accurate, and they take up barely any room at all.
But it’s not all roses. The playlist functionality is unusable, and the random track feature only plays the first tracks out of any given pack.
By far the most frustrating issue, however, is the fact that the app periodically needs to “update the database”. I don’t know what is in this database, but it takes FOREVER to update. Case in point, today I tried to do it, and gave up after about 20 minutes. You have to click update, and leave your phone alone, because if you put the app in the background, it will reset and you’ll have to start over the next time you try to use the app. This basically forces you to choose between not using your phone or not using the app, every few weeks or month or however often it gets an updated database. As much as I love the pros of this app, I don’t love it enough to put up with such nonsense.Show lessNorms sutton

Hi, sorry for the database problem. It looks the database is too big/need some maintenance. Database is updated at each new version 1st launch. Could you please try to launch a DB cleanup => "More/Maintenance/Clean Database". If you still have the issue, please reset the DB => "More/Maintenance/Reset Database". Playlists have been improved in upcoming v3.1 (under review by apple right now) + the issue of the random track feature only selecting first entry in archive has been fixed as well.Best gets better
App receiving great updates like a multi track oscilloscope (like in a real tracker) and also the ability to play per hardware channel (awesome for breaking down custom Amiga tracks into 4 separate channels. Last remaining option I would love is an export per channel to wav/flac. But understandably it’s not really what the app is for.
The only thing I miss is the number of stars I can allocate on a track: used to be 1-5 stars so could rate my collection and listen to only 4-5 stars for example. Now it’s just a heart or not a heart, so that’s a bit lame if I’m honest. Don’t see why the dev regressed that feature. But it’s unimportant in the big picture. Hi, it should not crash. Could you try to remove & reinstall the app ? Also v2.9 should help, it is currently being reviewed by Apple and should be available soon.This has come a long way
I am so glad for the latest update. With the new update I can finally play all the files I usually do with a different app on a different platform that I used to use. Suffice it to say I am ecstatic at the progress that has been made. I can't wait to see what else is going to come of this. I'm glad that I paid for this a long time ago. The app is great, it plays most all of my modules. There’s a problem. The app crashes when my modules play or in the middle. Also is there a way I can share my mods to another device? Also can you fix the Mt2 files for Madtracker? Can you enable the automation for Mt2 files? Thanks!Sparky The Railfanner

Hi, version 3 will be available soon, it will be a major upgrade. If you still have issues, please use the "contact support" button (in the "more" tab) that will be in v3.0 to send more details about your problem.Love the versatility and quality, but needs updates!!
Whenever I need o scratch a retro chip tune itch I reach for MODizer. The number of emulations is terrific, having access to many, many libraries of tracks for multiple platforms, from directly within the interface is super convenient and the visualizers are fun to watch while out jam out.
My only real complaint is periodic updates. I would really love to hear tracks from the latest High Voltage SID Collection, but the MODizer library hasn’t been updates since ~2019!?
I like this tool enough to pay for a commercial version, if I could know it will always have current libraries.

Almost the best
The player caps at 2:30 and doesn’t display the instruments. Other than that, every file I’ve tried playing works.homeboy4132
Very good but needs some tweaks
This is a great app for playing video game music on iOS. However, the interface needs some tweaks for the notched iPhones, since the volume bar at the bottom is unusable since it’s behind the home bar at the bottom of the screen. Also, most PlayStation audio files don’t work for some reason. Other than that, I like the fact that you can download your music files directly from its own browser and it will add them to the library automatically.Show lessdanielton1
Great but doesnt appear in Share list anymore
Not sure if its a bug in the app or ios but I cant get it to appear in the Files app share list anymore meaning I cant open files locally anymore.
Also would be great to add the ability to load from Cloud services such as Onedrive and Dropbox from the appSimmouk
