Piano students LOVE this one!

This app was actually a major factor in my decision to purchase an iPhone! Used it last month on my daughter's iTouch for a Piano Performance Class, and the kids just LOVED the "Hot Potato" game. Easy to use, very flexible in drilling specific sets of notes.

Great app!!

What I love about this app is that I can choose the specific notes to be drilled on, rather than just a range, and that it can drill on a grand (piano) staff. I'm very quick at recognizing the notes on the staff itself but I'm trying to improve my reading of ledger lines notes.
I really wish the app was capable of drilling on 5 or 6 or 7 ledger lines though -- as it is now, it only goes up to three (above/below).
Aside from my one complaint, it's obvious that a lot of thought went into the creation of this app.

Student favorite

Do students ask to practice flash cards? They do if they're in the form of this app! I love the ease of programming just a few notes or many. My students enjoy the touch screen and feedback on their success. A win-win for both of us! The developer has been very responsive.

It's fun!

My son has recently started piano and tends to play by ear. This app is a fun way to get him to agree to practice his notes. He has sound sensitivities and the quack sound (his description) makes him smile. I like that the app plays the notes as the user identifies the note and that one can save progress or choose restart. I would like to be able to save progress for more than one user as I would like to try the flash cards myself. I have mentioned this app to the owner of my son's music school and will be recommending it to other parents as well! Thanks Henry Flurry for making this fun and easy to use. Dawn H Ellis

Fun, useful and well-presented

This is a great little app - the grand staff notation makes it ideal for using with my piano and keyboard students, and the layout and user-interface have been well thought-out. Love the fact that I can customise my own decks, too. Highly recommended!

Engaging, entertaining and educational

This app. has quickly become a family favorite. It is very user friendly and customizable to each user. The hot potato setting keeps my children engaged for long periods of time and it is so fun they don't even realize that they are learning to read music! The price of this app. is such a bargain. You will not find any workbooks or flashcards that will teach musical notation in such an entertaining and engaging manner (at such a low cost). This is a must have for any music teacher or music student. Enjoy this one - my kids reading skills have improved quickly and dramatically with very little effort on my part due to this great, new application!

New Technology for an Old Problem

Music Flash Class is a joy to use. Today's students are used to uploading information quickly and gaming in order to learn new concepts, by passing traditional means of rote learning. Music Flash Class offers wonderful, up to date, incentives for music students to learn the notes of the staff. My students were so intrigued and impressed when I whipped out my iphone to play Flash Class instead of the more traditional paper music flash cards. We post everyone's times and scores in the studio and now all of my 40+ students work with Flash Clash to best each other in their note reading skills. And besides, my students now think I am the coolest teacher around! Music students must become proficient at note reading in order to advance quickly in any music training. But knowing the music staff well enough to merge one's fingers with the staff and with their instrument simply takes practice, daily repetition and constant review. Why not meet today's students half-way and teach using well thought out and pedagogically-sound electronic tools to teach the beauty and art of musicianship.

Good Solid Learning Program

Cool App to learn note names. As the name implies, it is an automated set of flash cards, with built-in challenge. Excellent for music students and teachers. As the father of two students I can highly recommend it.
