Pretty fun

I feel like chop chop has a very good concept with where it's little franchise is going. Thing is I don't think any of their apps can match chop chop ninja so they shouldn't have released it first haha. I feel the games have been getting slightly worse and worse and I feel like they're trying to load too much into the game. However I think that this app isn't bad, it's pretty fun though the controls could use some fine tuning and it was a bit laggy but that could be just my 8gb iPod. Anyway worth your while while it's only a buck...

WOW! Really surprized me!

I, honestly, had never downloaded a Chop Chop developed game, before this one. It was a pleasent surprise, to say the least! The first thing I noticed was how intense the graphics were from the reflection off of the ice surface! This gives a real "hockey" atmosphere! Controls are very smooth. Game play is very easy to learn and makes for fast action! Audio also gets an A+. Very repeatable gameplay! I will definitly have to keep Chop Chop in mind for future or maybe already developed games! This game will also stay in my spots game collection for a veryyyyy long time. A++ Chop Chop!!!

Amazing

I really enjoyed all of the chop chop series so far. This is probably my second favorite, after Ninja. It is not, contrary to what some say, the same as soccer. I think that the graphics in this one are much better (everything reflects off the ice, which I'm very impressed with) as well as the gameplay is different. In Soccer you have to constantly defend yourself against the other players, and/or pass the ball. This game, on the other hand, requires much less action until you get to the goal (in which case you certainly play some action!). Also I really like the 'replay' feature in both Soccer and Hockey. Great games guys!

Fun and slick!

This is one really fun, highly rewarding and beautiful hockey game out there. It has everything one may look for in a cartoonish sports game. Great 3D graphics, nice sounds (the siren is a killer), balanced gameplay, tons of humor, various arenas, tournaments, instant replays, and more. Controls are not hard to master at all, but allow to perform various tricks and plan your strategy. Camera modes are also quite useful and fun to play with, and you can change views easily by pausing the game.

I also found out that the game is not very hard on battery, so hopefully you’ll enjoy it for much longer time on the go, than most of the modern 3D games.

One big thing missing is, of course, multiplayer. I might also mention a little bit low resolution textures of the circles on the ice, especially noticeable on iPad and Retina displays, and lack of Achievements (no Game Center, OpenFeint, or other system implemented). However, I do believe developers will listen and improve the game further. After all, it’s a very solid, well-thought, and absolutely fun to play title.

ps
Please, do not forget to re-boot the iDevice for a better performance!

Good Graphics. . Good Controls

This is a good game. . . not great. I really like the graphics. The controls and the gameplay are very intuitive. I really can't wait to play this on my iPad. There is a small training portion, which could use some additional work. I'd like a few more training sessions to bring in new parts of the game one at a time. The only issue that is somewhat difficult is the scoring. Getting the puck in the goal isn't as easy as I think it should be, but with a little practice, I think it will be fine. Definitely worth a download.

Fun Casual Hockey game

The Chop Chop series does it again. I've played ninja, runner, tennis, soccer and now hockey, and they are all fun. This one is about the same as the soccer one, but it is more fast paced and it's more satisfying to check people against the boards. At times it can feel like frantic swiping and luck is required to get a goal, but it is satisfying when it finally gets past the goalie for the win! At 99 cents it's a great deal!

Again, well done.

I'm not much of a hockey fan, but gamerizon has never steered me wrong before, so I grabbed this as soon as I saw it. It's really well put together. The controls are really unique, but they are easy to adjust to, and feel natural. The graphics are great, and getting retina support out of the gate is awesome, instead of having to wait for an update, like so many other apps. It's also great to read in the description that they're already promising updates.
Even if you're not a hockey fan, you'll still have fun with this one. Grab it while it's $0.99 at launch too, which is just icing on the cake.

I dug it!

Just what I have come to expect from the Chop Chop series. A quirky, intuitive and fun little sports game that gets pretty tense at times. Coming from someone who greatly dislikes sports games, that should speak volumes. You have options between training to get your bearings, a single game, or a tournament. Haven't tried tournament mode yet, but after playing a few singles, I have truly come to enjoy this. You probably will too!

Whimsical Body Checks

Chop Chop Hockey delivers at a level surpassing even its most recent predecessor. Crisp Graphics, nice light effects, and smooth animations add the right amount of visual flair to this great interpretation of Winter's Sport.

The controls are improved over those in CC Soccer - no longer is a swipe required (and often not recognized) - now a simple tap executes the smart pass, check, and shoot. This in itself improves the pace of the game and heightens enjoyment.

In short, CC Hockey is a light-hearted romp on the ice, with improved controls that make it superb.

It lacks multiplayer and achievements, two features sports games need. Also, it hangs up/slows down aggravatingly on my iPhone 3G - and doesn't handle interruptions (incoming phone calls) well. Hopefully, the former will be aded as features and the latter will be fixed as bugs.

Chop Chop Choppy in my 2nd gen iPod

I wanted to like this more than I ended up. The framerate is fairly bad and inconsistent on my 2nd gen iPod touch, and this is unfortunate, as it does negatively impact the experience, at least for me. I think with more time with the game, I'll get more used to the controls, but I did find myself trying to move and passing, or trying to shoot on goal and missing by a mile. You also have to be diligent about where you put your finger to start so that you don't end up completely covering the part of the screen you care about when playing.

I did find that switching the camera angle to the behind view instead of the side view did help the framerate for me.
