  • Castelian

I like the interface but some of the translations are NOT Castilian Spanish. Other than that I check the app everyday to help keep my language skills alive.
  • My Review

I use this app quite often however there is an issue of accuracy. I am almost fluent in the Spanish language so it does come in handy however you have to verify & guess or utilize other apps etc to ensure a great result.
  • An app gone terribly wrong

    UPDATE:
The 19.1 update seems to have fixed all the problems I noted below. Thank you. The interface now presents information in the same compact and useful way. It is more information dense than is currently fashionable, but that density is essential for the serious user. Moreover, I want to commend the developers for their rapid response to my concerns. First rate. I have no hesitation in revising my rating from 1 to 5 stars.

    -------------------------------------------------------

I have been using this app for a long time and found it very useful. The latest release makes it totally useless and not worth the money I paid for the upgrade. It is not almost impossible to find the detailed discussion of words and the conjugations of verbs in this version, i am deleting with sorrow.

Update. I just re-downloaded the app, there does not appear to be anything the developer mentioned in his response, moreover it will not restore my previous purchase of the pro version, now I am even more dissatisfied. This approach to update an improvement does not seem to work. I wish I could remove the single star I have already given this app. It makes me sad, I have used this app daily for the last year and I have not found an adequate replacement. Moreover the add encrusted non-pro version is particularly annoying.

  • Mostly good app , but vague at times.

It's a good dictionary app. However, some of the words have many translations and are too vague at times. For example, what's the correct term for the word "bright"? "¿Brillante" o luminoso?" Also, sometimes verbs and nouns tend to be missing for certain words. It's also hard to tell which countries use certain words if your trying to speak with a certain accent. I also can't help but feel bummed out knowing that you have to pay for the games and audio. There's even a feature where you can take a picture of a word in Spanish and it will translate it. Yet, you still have to pay, as with almost all the features. With that being said, it's a pretty good app, I just hope it keeps improving.

  • Great! Helpful! Helps me in writing Spanish songs!

Click English tab type your word and Spanish words show up in relation to it. Example "home" and one of words showing is "casa". Click Spanish tab and type casa and it gives you more definitions, (and vise versa). This also helps me in writing Spanish songs. It gives me meanings, definitions, and just looking, I can find rhyming words in Spanish. Also gets you to the internet for more info. Great tool!!!

  • Poor pronunciation

The dictionary itself is good and more than sufficient. I think the pronunciation leaves a lot to be desired. There's no real distinction between Castillion and Latin American pronunciation. Additionally, the pronunciation is garbled many times and unclear at other times. Inasmuch as you are trying to explain the pronunciation of the word, there was no reason not to exaggerate the sound a little. This is done very well in the French dictionary.

  • Decent vocabulary, a few nuisances

There's a decent amount of words in the vocabulary, and I like the ability to search English or Spanish.

I don't like the very intrusive ads. And every time I come back to the app it brings me to the Word of the Day. It just slows down what I'm trying to do.

Otherwise a nice app, would recommend because an Internet connection isn't required.

  • Unorganized, Unclear, Frustrating

Using this app as an advanced student of Spanish, I was shocked to see how difficult it is to utilize the information presented to you in this app. For example, when searching English to Spanish translations, the search returns a large list of untranslated Spanish words, with no indication as to which is more useful to which context. Hard to use, difficult to decipher, and plagued by non-stop, in-app advertising, this is certainly an avoidable app compared to the myriad of similar apps that are easier to use and understand. (p.s. Beware the positive reviews)

  • A mi me gusta la aplicación

I really love this app, I love finding out the word of the day every morning, even though usually I already know the word. I love the games that you can play and I am mostly Hooked on them. You can battle with friends but it doesn't work. You can type a word in English and find out what it means, you just have to BUY the specific translator, and also it would be amazing if there would only Be ONE word of the day, because it always changes for some reason... It's "word of the day" not "words of the day"
