  • Great HiFi app

Great HiFi app and a truly great magazine!
  • Stead App

Enjoy using the App. Not had quite the same issues with it crashing as others users so cannot complain too much. Nothing remarkable tbh but not sure what extra to expect from a digi mag. Keep up with the bug fixes.
  • Awful app

Couldn't agree more with the previous review. The app keeps on crashing and this never happens with other apps I have. It is now impossible for me to open up this app and to retrieve previous editions I bought. This is a pity given the magazine is good quality. So as said by the previous reviewer get your act together with this app!!!

  • Good app

Basically no wood is used to write awsome articles on high end hifi. The app can be slow but articles require you to read at slow pace instead of U S mags which throw alot of specs at you. Hi Fi plus is more personal about music and the developement of highend audio.
  • Great Magazine, awful app.

The magazine is a firm favourite of mine, covering manufacturers you will not see elsewhere.
The problem is the app, which falls over on a regular basis. Pages freeze, won't expand, or leave the bottom of the page not visible.
This is not just with this magazine, as I currently am being asked to pay for another magazine, even though my subscription with that publication does not run out until January 2014!
Come on Pixel Mags, get your act together or I will go back to the paper version!

  • Does not work!

Magazine appears to have all empty pages!!
  • Should be much better

The content has never been in question, I have been buying the paper version since issue 20. After 60 issues I thought I'd give the app a try. Unfortunately I have been disappointed. It is a pure replication of the print version with a very poor interface. Dynamic resizing of text to match the layout of the pages is non-existent, one can merely zoom, and this is a very poor experience as the reaction is slow so you frequently zoom beyond the point you wish to reach. It does not utilise the display of the new iPad so a full page shot is unreadable. Come on, should be way better than this.

  • worth the money

It is exactly what it says it is. Needs portrait orientation on the iPad but very readable and easy to navigate. Your hi fi budget needs to well exceed £15k and then it whets your appetite to expand upmarket even more. Hi fi plus is now introducing a wide series of new Hi-fi suppliers from outside the UK.

  • /do not want

Hi>Fi+ is my favorite print mag for audio, but this digital implementation is sub-par, at best. It has a really horrible, low-res page turning animation that cannot be disabled in settings. Please, either use the iBooks page-turning or add the ability to disable your current version. The UX in the app feels very non-Apple; slow, imprecise, and sloppy. The total deal-breaker here, though, is the resolution of the text at default zoom level. I'm on an iPad with better resolution than my 60" TV and the text is blurry?!? Really? I rarely give such a low rating, but this lack of polish is unacceptable. I would steer well clear of any Newstand magazine that is produced by Pocketmags. They're rubbish.
