  • Sometimes it work sometimes it don't!

    I moved from NYC and got the digital version of Daily News. I've been reading this paper since I was a child in 51 now! For one month it did not work no matter what I did. Woke up one day it was back to normal. Today no Saturday edition, someone there forgot to release it I guess! This isn't the first time. Also the amount of typos for a newspaper upsets me. I really wish you guys get your mess together. If we pay for something it should work!

    Back to same issue it's not uploading latest daily news!

  • Frustration continues

    You only get the early Metro edition which doesn’t have the latest news or sports scores. Why can’t they update it? Once again one of the editions wouldn’t download and tech support was useless. They said they’d get back within 24 hours when the paper would be useless and they never did call back. As other readers have indicated the paper downloads with random blank pages. It took multiple calls to tech services before they understood the problem and the problem still persists. The paper also cuts off the ends of some articles. Doesn’t anyone at theDaily News read their own paper and see these problems?

  • They have fixed the issue with downloading new issues

    The new revamped version of the Daily News app with red font and white backgrounds is an excellent update. The old app would not download new issues even though I had an active paid subscription. In this new version, new issues are downloadable. The NEW App Navigation is top notch. It has a NEW ability to read aloud articles that is well appreciated by me. This app is now much better than any other Electronic News Paper subscription I have. My time is limited and valuable, so being able to quickly go through the articles that grab my attention is awesome with this new navigation. The only thing I would like to see improved right now, is the ability to change the default voice of Samantha from reading my articles. Her voice is so annoying. I went into iOS settings and changed all my default speaking voices to a SIRI voice and the app still speaks Samatha’s voice. But this app is still great despite that malfunction.

  • Cannot open digital edition.

    Since moving to Florida 6 years ago I’ve enjoyed reading the digital version of the Daily News on my iPhone.. But since I’ve downloaded iOS 17 on my Apple iPhone I cannot open the app. I’ve called the customer service twice and they were not one bit helpful. I’ve also emailed them three times and all I get as a reply is that I can expect a reply within 72 hours. The last email I sent them was 2 weeks ago. Still waiting for a reply. . What’s wrong over at the Daily News?
    So i have to give them one star and that’s only because I can’t send them zero stars.

  • Unreliable

    I am a long time Daily News reader and up until recently I have been using this app to read the news before I head into work. I enjoyed the fact that most days I could get the paper by 5am and be well informed before I head to work. Working the last month or so I have had days where there was no paper and recently no service whatsoever. I discontinued my subscription and attempted to renew it with no luck. The website has me registered as a user but the apps, there are two of them, neither allowed me to log in with the same credentials as the website nor could I log in directly. Contacting customer support for the app only confirmed that my email address was not in their database even though Apple saw me as registered with them for a subscription. Until this issue is resolved I am resolving to read my news from other sources. My loss since I loved how the News represented the city.

  • DEFECTIVE APP - DOES NOT WORK SINCE ios UPDATE

    Day after day, week after week, you can keep clicking on the latest edition and nothing will happen. They have your money but you don’t have any product. NYDN certainly should seriously consider a reimbursement and a withdrawal of the application from the App Store. They know about the failure, but do nothing. Perhaps it’s the beginning of the end for the Daily News. If NYDN were publicly traded I would do a deep dive into their financials and maybe short the stock. Unfortunately, their parent company went private in May 2021––so all we can do is enjoy the useless application. smh

  • Does the Daily News what more of your money twice.

    It’s seems that you just paid for a 6 month subscription for the Daily newspaper and they no longer supporting this app. It seem they want you to paid an additional subscription on top of what you already paid for their new app with a cost on 6 times more that that you paying now. Also, no feed back on emails and no real support with calls to support. If the app is not being supported, there should be a warning to not renew your subscription for this app. This is just a conclusion based on the facts from the last time this app was updated, emails and calls I made and other people recents reviews. How can I trust the NY Daily News based on this app and responses to consumers inquiries to correct this app in a timely manner.

  • Doesn’t work anymore

    I’ve subscribed to The NY Daily News through this app for years. It was great. But now The NY Daily News doesn’t support it any more. They sold this app to a 3rd party. The 3rd party isn’t maintaining the app. The last time it was updated was 3 years ago. The paper doesn’t download anymore. I call and they say they are aware of the situation, but it’s been a week and they haven’t fixed it. It’s too bad because I really love this app. I suspect that they will delete this app soon because it doesn’t pay enough and it’s limited to Apple users only. If they fix it I will upgrade my rating.

  • Worthless on OS17

    I’m a life long reader who’s ready to abandon the newspaper. Ever since I’ve updated to OS 17, the app has been rendered useless. New editions will not download! The download immediately pauses and will never resume. I’ve emailed dozens of times to let them know of the issue and I’ve received zero replies. I’ve called as well and though they seem to be aware of the issue, nothing changes. It’s been over 6 weeks that I haven’t been able to read the newspaper. I’m paid up until February and there’s nothing I can do about it but they will be losing a subscriber!
