Dark mode please. It’s 2024!
Almost Perfect
Just needs a dark mode - white screen is brutal in the dark. Also the program listen back are sorted into a day earlier than actually on (Sunday programmes show as Saturday etc.) which makes it hard to find content. Otherwise great to use and listen to streams and read news without ads and bias
Push notifications are extreme
I’ve complained about this before, the push notifications are too intense! Especially where reporting on violent crimes, these push notifications should be shared with a bit more sensitivity rather than the sensationalist click bait feel that they have. Receiving a string of notifications this afternoon - about the sentencing of a mother who murdered her kids - has been such an overload of triggering information. RNZ also goes way overboard with the sports push notifications. Please can you add separate opt ins for push notifications concerning crime and sports? I only have breaking news selected because I want to know about urgent situations unfolding locally, e.g. weather events.

Fix news notifications
Please stop sending out “breaking news” notifications for everything, I have sport turned off and only breaking news ones on, but end up getting multiple every weekend with any game, please stop abusing this is send out notifications that are breaking at all
No programme showing for Concert FM
Concert should have its own app instead of making us dig around on RNZ app to find it. Also why can’t you show the info about what we’re listening to? Your programmes are planned in advance so why can’t you load all the details to the app. Guess I’ll have to go back to the TV or website which stops playing if I open anything else. Also why can’t you give us a full screen window on iPads instead of the small phone size?

Excellent content
We love RNZ and listen everyday. Excellent source of news, current affairs, media commentary, NZ arts and culture stories as well as entertaining and informative podcasts. Great being able to listen to features I can’t listen to live.
App is usually good but recently had issues with it cutting off part way through playing content so have reinstalled app, hoping these bugs are fixed!

Dark mode and lock bug
This would be a 5 star review if Dark mode was included. Also there is a bug which has already been reported but not fixed: after a week or two of use, the app stops working on screen lock or if user opens another app at the same time as listening. The workaround is to uninstall and reinstall the app but it’s annoying.
