missing basic functionality

The app is very poor and misses basic functionality when compared to the website. For example, there is no structured workout builder. There is no weekly metrics summary. It is harder to navigate than in the web version.

We can definitely assist in getting you on track to use all of our app's features! Please reach out to us at support@trainingpeaks.com for further assistance.

Poor UX and allot of nags

The app does what its supposed to so tough to complain too much. I do find the constant nag to buy premium and the challenging navigation to be a put off. The UX is trying to jam too much into each navigation and could stand for simplification.

Hi Ronnie, we greatly appreciate all the feedback. We will take this into consideration for future updates!

Welcome to structured training!

Great app- has helped me discover that I like structured training and all the small goals - for the next 5 min, or day or week- that it creates. Also great for diving into the data after a workout to match what I feel to the stats, and flexible enough to adjust around weeks where work or a sore muscle get in the way. First time in my life I’ve set up a real training plan, and without Training Peaks, there no way I’d still plugging away three months later. Only complaint is the hokey export to Apple workouts- but the third-party app Watchletics helps overcome that and make TP a decent match w an Apple Watch.

Good for training

I am using this app for my triathlon training since September. I have an Apple Watch 8 and Polar hr sensor.

Most workouts do upload automatically from fitness App or Apple Health, but I realized recently that there is discrepancies between what Training Peaks imports and what my Apple Watch recored in Fitness app. Unfortunately, this if you do a strength workout from Apple watch Training can’t merge with the one from their calendar and All Trails workouts so a hike by example won’t come up in Training Peaks.

One thing to know the calendar starts with Monday to Sunday and not Sunday to Saturday. It can’t customize it. TRAINING PEAKS PLEASE MAKE THE CHANGE TO CALENDAR !!! I want to be able to choose when my week starts.

Btw when you create a mew account you get the premium version for free for couple weeks then it restarts to free version and you’ll be kicked out from your coaches calendar group so after the premium trial is over you’ll have to re enter your coaching group.

Ho Chornii, Thanks for your review, and for all of this feedback! Regarding your Apple Health sync could you shoot us an email at support@trainingpeaks.com and we can help get that sorted for you! As far as changing your calendar to start on Sunday instead of Monday, like you mentioned this is not currently possible but I will be sure to pass this along. When you go back to basic from premium after your trial you should not be kicked out of your coach's training group, this likely has to do with them exceeding the number of basic athletes in their account.

Three stars so far

First days using TP. Only linked my garmin account so far and assumed as everything I do on Zwift and Strava also will appear on TP didn’t bother linking them as well. I like to channel everything through garmin. So Zwift and Strava have also to be linked.
Tried to import Zwift files from yesterday directly to TP but easier said than done. How to use drag and drop on iPad? No idea. Saved .fit files in google drive but it doesn’t recognise .fit format.
Now have linked Zwift but it doesn’t appear in TP. I think, I have given all the permissions I can.
Losing the will to persevere with TP.
My Apple Watch has linked and also garmin so at least I know I have a pulse.

Hi Ritchierooo, Thanks for the review and feedback here. There is a way to link Zwift directly to TP for automatic workout sync, here is our help article for that: https://help.trainingpeaks.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020392591-Connecting-Zwift-And-TrainingPeaks-Accounts If you still have trouble and have set that up please shoot us an email at support@trainingpeaks.com and we can ensure you have everything all setup!

Web v app disparity issues

Look, if you’re going to make it so there are more features on the web than the app, that’s perfectly fine. However if you make it so you can only access the payment features, you can’t make it so every time you try to open the website in your mobile phone browser it automatically opens the app rather than the web version. It’s a huge hassle having to now go and find a pc I can use to access my account. Definitely cancelling my subscription just for that reason.

A bit dated/“clunky”

Tbh I had high hopes after reading training for the uphill athlete. But, I feel like the app is a bit dated and clunky in its use and execution. Perhaps it is just me. But I don’t find it terribly user friendly or informative.
