App has become unusable
I loved the app for its straightforward and intuitive video editing interface—enough that, for years, I overlooked issues like slow uploads and frequent errors forcing restarting the app. However, now it has become entirely unusable. I have spent hours over the last several days attempting to upload media to a new project, and the app continually gets stuck on a loading screen, never actually allowing me to select media to upload. This step was always slow and frequently required restarting the app before it worked, but now I let it sit for half an hour at a time and it still never loads. The two or three times my camera roll did actually load and I thought it might be working, I ran into an error once I selected media and could never successfully load it into a new project (and upon restarting the app, I was back to a never-ending loading screen). I attempted to contact support and received an automatically generated reply about app crashes that was not relevant to the issue I was having. I followed the instructions to supply a video of the issue I was having, and got no reply (which was no surprise, as past outreach to support has gone unanswered). At this point, after hours of wasted time, I have to conclude that this app is no longer just glitchy with poor support, but entirely unusable and a waste of time and money.Show lessSplice has become a cash cow
I downloaded this app 7 years ago and fell in love with video production and editing because of it. At the time, Splice had pretty much anything you needed without any subscriptions or purchases. Over the years there have been updates that have significantly improved the app and added features like chroma key. The app was in a constant rate of improvement up until i think 2021 or 2022. Up until then I used the app very frequently and made many projects but I eventually stopped using it. I would go on every couple months but rarely made projects. At some point I realized they added a subscription for the app but since I already had the app installed everything was available for me. I was happy about that since I felt that made sense. I went on the app recently to make a video for a friend and was pretty shocked to see how the app looked like an advertisement explosion for a pro subscription. Pop ups everywhere and limited features. I realized I had the base subscription which I was fine with since I assumed you would still be able to use the app. Almost all the important features now require the pro subscription. Transitions, Music, Captions all require the pro subscription. The worst part, you can’t even export your videos anymore. You need the pro subscription to even save the video you made. It’s sad since I really loved this app in its prime and hate to see it become this. Download capcut or adobe rushShow lessSo easy to use, a must have for content creators
I’ve been using Splice for a little while now, and it’s become my go-to video editing app. The interface is intuitive, making it easy for both beginners and pros to create high-quality videos. I love how smooth the editing process is, with a great range of tools, transitions, and effects that really elevate my content. The app handles everything from basic trims to more advanced edits without any hiccups.
What sets Splice apart is its flexibility—whether I’m putting together a quick social media clip or a longer video, the app handles it all effortlessly. The music library is a fantastic bonus, offering a variety of tracks that fit any mood or style.
Overall, Splice has really helped me up my content game. If you’re serious about video editing on the go, this app is a no-brainer!Show less
