I use this on my Mac and it allows me to read all those win.dat files that are otherwise unreadable. You still have to drag the file to the application on my dashboard, but from there it automatically converts it to a normal file, so its great.

This does everything I want. It opens automatically when I go to open the file directly and the document is immediately available. I don’t need to think about anything. It just works.

Don't be fooled - this isn't the same as the regular letter opener
The regular opener from the authors website is a far superior, integrated option. I was fooled because I thought this was the same thing, however I've just wasted $10 on a useless piece of software that doesn't even integrate with mail.app, instead you have to open the app, each time you want to view a winmmail.dat file, drag it to the icon and then decide what you want to do with the various files inside the winmail.dat. I am assuming this is some sort of no-plugin rule that Apple are pushing down software authors throats, but the fact remains - you can get software that does the same thing for free on the net. Don't waste your cash.
