  • Awesome!!

I was looking for an app just like this for university. I am doing a Bachelors degree in Music Performance. This app has helped out so much, not just with writing up chord charts and lead sheets, but also working out rhythmic dictation, and sight reading! This app has the same capacity as full blown software!! Its awesome!! The best part is, if ever I've had a problem, or needed a little more help with using the app, I have been able to contact the developers, and they have got back to me super fast, with whatever information or assistance I've needed! The latest update has made a great app even better! The developers have really taken on what their customers wanted, and have delivered exactly that. Making sure that functionality and practicality is meeting the needs of their consumers. I am stoked at how diligent this developer is in making sure they deliver exactly what they promise!! Highly recommend you get this app for chart writing, transcribing, composing... whatever your need may be!! Certainly the best app in its class on the App Store!!!!!

  • Half a star - if that

I purchased this app when I first bought my ipad late last year, and was very excited by the possibilities of what I could compose on the go, and had found this app to be my only answer to my prayers.

Instead I find myself struggling with a very slow program, that constantly freezes not only the app but the entire ipad in question. It was not worth the money I have spent on it. It is very unresponsive to touch, and it can take anywhere from five to fifteen touches just to get a note to change staff lines. The piano roll is forever freezing and holding one note eternally, and when recording skips, jumps and sometimes freezes up the app.

If you can avoid it, don't buy it. That's my review.

  • Flash quite on os5.1

Not very satisfied... Can not even open this program in os5.1
  • Wish it was still receiving updates...

Great that it finally got an update.
One thing that definitely needs to be addressed is the fact that the notes heads and stems of notes in different voices, when they're close, won't be separated, meaning it often looks very messy. Also needs a function whereby you can add beam minims and crotchets. Also triplet function needs to be improved. Still a bit glitchy. And sometimes key signature flats and sharps are ignored during playback, quite jarring on the ear. And u need to be able to add natural/sharp/flat signs to notes, because at the moment if u have an accidental on a note in one octave it won't let u add one as a reminder for the same note in a lower/higher octave. Hope this is helpful as its coming from someone who loves and is constantly using this app. Thanks. Evan.

  • Fantastic app

This app is so useful. It's feature rich yet easy to use and does just about everything I need to do. I would like it to have multi bar rests and more dynamics - other than that it's great.
  • Alright

It's not amazing. Really bad audio for the instruments, can be hard to add notes in.
  • Revolutionary, even thoguh it crashes :)

this app is quite amazing in my mind and i love to be able to hear all of the different instruments and express my musical creativity. it does seem to crash quite a bit when you have a lot of written music but it is worth being patient to be able to enjoy and write amazing music. I would call it revolutionary for music.

  • AMAZING

Honestly one of the best applications I have out of my many, and definitely the best music app. I use this for writing my compositions for assessments and its great being able to export the sheet music as a PDF, and having a midi file. It has all the basic dynamics and note heads you need. Only improvement would be to add more dynamics and smoother, more realistic playback. Other than that a must have for any muso!

  • )Hope this works for learning notation.

I plan to hook up my Midi keyboard when my IRig Midi arrives, so I can play notes on my keyboard and see what notes come up on the notation. I believe that if I watch long enough, I will soon get used to the

notation symbols and will know what to play on the keyboard. The plan is to learn notation in reverse, by seeing what notes come up when I play a certain key, I can then reverse the process in my brain later when I see notation , I know what keys to play. This should be fascinating to any educators. If you can learn it one way - notation to keyboard- why can't you learn it the other way: - keyboard to notation!!

Also, sure hope that thins plays back thru Midi Out to my Midi keyboard so I can put it through my PA system.

  • Fantastic!

Crashes sometimes. Cannot export files as mp3. Other than that, perfect!!! It might be the only decent music notation app available now. Well done guys! Thx so much.
