Great app, am preparing a presentation to the staff meeting using this app, along with the Apple TV and interactive whiteboard to showcase it. Kids love it, that I can walk around the room and the writing appears on the whiteboard. Text type would really top it off to a good five star.
  • Incredible Potential!

I absolutely love this app! I recommend it to anyone who wants to connect to learners using technology, and in itself it is very powerful. I just want to use it more and more to grasp all it's features and review it fully! And did I mention its FREE...
  • Researching for school use!

We have a tiny, tiny, 5- classroom Catholic school with a limited budget; so when the "technology committee" (3 parents and our principal) met, the affordability of useful technology in the classroom seemed out of reach for the immediate future. I have had the Doceri app for less than 1 day and am putting together a presentation and links for our next meeting. Can't wait to get back to school on Monday and get the desktop connections going on our network. The friendly interface you have designed should facilitate interactive, tech-savvy projects for staff and students alike. My 8 year-old recorded a screencast and wrote/sketched a mini-lesson on rounding for her peers in under 10 minutes just this morning! It is my hope that Doceri, and it's partners, will put the technology of the world-at-large in the hands of students in even the smallest communities. Gratias tibi ago, Doceri!
P.S. I think our child's rounding screencast will make it into the presentation;)

  • Best App for a Teacher

My second day using it in my 4th grade classroom, and it works wonderfully. I use it with my Mimio interactive whiteboard and I love being able to control my computer and whiteboard from anywhere in my classroom. I am able to annotate over everything so far, even things I wasn't able to with my Mimio. The kids love it and I love that I don't have to be at my board with my back to the class to use the whiteboard. Connection and download onto the desktop was very simple; I was using the app within a couple minutes of downloading it. The best part is that it's completely free!

  • Stunning

I have been looking for an app to combine with our Adobe Connect distance learning component of our school. The adobe built in whiteboard app is clunky and limited though the rest of the platform is awesome. With Doceri I can now give a teacher stunning digital whiteboard capabilities, remote control of the main classroom computer, and allow the teacher to roam the class and not tied to a whiteboard up front. All this from one app. Thank you Doceri. One thing I would recommend is the ability to be able to with on tap move over in the drawing side of the app. I found when I was zoomed in to write smaller text it would be nice to have a quick button to slide you over the screen to continue writing on the same line. Nonetheless amazing app.

  • Stinks when compared to tablet pc:-((

I have been using a tablet pc since 2001 which has a stylus that feels like a regular pen. the stylus and the whole interface in the ipad/doceri stinks. people who love this application will starting hating it if they use a tablet and it's very paper and pen/pencil like interface. Having said that, I see a very strong potential for an application that will act like a transparent layer for any of my app. on my computer. It is nice to be untethered, but I can get that feature with wireless connection to my projector with my tablet. My students who were asked to use it in class totally hated due to the interface, but love my tablet.

The recording feature is nice, but we can achieve that with a smaller size file by taking a snapshots, rather than a huge animated file. Most college students do not watch the whole video, but skip and watch for important points. at least that is what many of my students inform me.

If Doceri is interested, I would be very happy to give input to improve the whole experience, but sadly the stylus experice is a hardware problem created Apple and how I wish Apple adapt the more thin pen like interface. (someone told me that apple did have a patent for a pen like device, but prefer the "fat finger" pen interface ). come on folks at Apple, in all of human history, we have always used an implement to write NOT our fingers.

I am going back to my tabletpc for my classroom teaching...

  • A great app for teaching

This is a good app which will free you up to walk around the room and interact more closely with students. I just wish it was a bit easier to control the computer as the buttons get really small and sometimes Doceri's controls get in the way and prevent certain functions. For example, I wanted to exit a program but the page up button was in the way and I couldn't get to it. That said, it is very easy to use and very quick. Make sure you have a stylus however, it is tough to control with fat fingers like mine.

  • One more thing needed.

This app is great, but if it added a text type option like other similar programs it would make it the best on the market.
  • I'm back.

I tried this out in January, and was impressed, but in needed a few more features to be usable. After talking to some of the most caring costumer support reps I have ever dealt with and telling them some of my needs for the classroom, I forgot about it and tried apps like Splashtop and Sketchbook. Decided to give a try today and found that they had addressed all concerns and added things I had not yet thought of. I can't wait to try the writing device. Call these people they are great. It is obvious they care about the quality of their product. I talked with the rep for North Carolina btw. They should give him a raise.

  • Better than the Smartboard

I love this app. Some of my teaching colleagues use the Smartboard but this is miles better and cheaper too 😊
