Excellent educational app for toddlers
Excellent FREE educational app. My 3 year old loves it. Easy to use and a few options to change difficulty and also what is shown on screen. Worth the down load effort.
FANTASTIC!
This APP is the best, not because it comes ready to use in a format (sounds etc) that are perfect BUT you can customise just about everything. It then becomes perfect. Greatest respect to 'Lancaster Girl' reviewer - you just have not tried all the features!
With all the customisable features, your child hears, your voice, your praise, your "try again" etc. I want to pay for this APP but it is free. I'm off to the developers site to try some more of their offerings. They understand UK parents even though they are American - Well Done.

You may think it would be quite easy to find an alphabet learning app that pronounces letters phonetically.
But amazingly it seems to be nigh on impossible.
This app (on the surface) is exactly the same. Again (by default) all the letters are verbally announced by their NAME.
As many, many reviewers keep sayingacross many apps; this is not how children learn the alphabet! They learn by the SOUNDS of the letters.
So the letter 'b' should not be announced with the sound 'bee'. It should be announced with just the letter itself makes when you speak the word.
Well thankfully, the great thing about this app, is that you can RECORD your own sounds for each and every letter!
This is actually better than a pre-designed sound setup. Your children can listen to the letters being spoken with their own parents' voices. And being from the UK myself, it also means you can avoid any Americanisms and accents etc.
Recording your own sounds is dead easy and it took me about 3 minutes to do the whole alphabet.
Also, this app lets you take your photographs or use your own camera images, to use in association with the games!

Very good I like the settings to change the success messages. It makes it more personal.

Good, but has bug that needs fixing
My preschooler and toddler both like this game and the fun picture options make it interesting.
BUT.....
When two or more picture options are chosen (ie. Monkeys & children) sometimes it will show the letter in question twice on the screen in both pic options, but it will only deem one correct. (ie. It will say "good job" for the D with a child but give the buzz for the D with the monkey).
Pls fix this!

probably not for me
letters are not pronounced phonically. The letter 'a' is as displayed in this typeface is not readily recognisable as most children are taught to draw and circle and then a downstroke to represent the letter 'a'. When I switched on lower case and animals option what in fact was displayed was a mixture of letters including, for example, a capital letter R and a lower case 'r'. When my daughter correctly pressed the spoken letter she was told it was wrong because the preference was for the same letter but in a different case. Would just have to selective in options menu for this app.
