Very helpful app for us while in Cabo. Being able to use it offline helped us find purchases for our condominium without having to use sign language and gestures while in the stores. (Try buying tools,etc at Home Depot without knowing what things are called!!). It also helped facilitate a conversation with a New Mexican friend who is trying to learn English. He was so impressed he decided to buy the app himself for his trips to the states. The full version is worth every penny if you travel to Mexico, or even if you just want to increase your Spanish vocabulary. Highly recommend it!Show lessMikelrue

Excelente App en todos los aspectos, especialmente en los términos técnicos, en mi caso los médicos. También es estupenda las voces, lo que echo de menos es la pronunciación por escrito.

Very, very useful
This app is really worth the money. I use it almost everyday. I really love the pronunciation tools, the common phrases included in the dictionary, and the verb conjugations, but sometimes the verbal part doesnt sound (sad face). I use this in class on my iPad and I use it at home for research. It is an awesome tool. The quality of the app is good and the visual colors are good as well. So far, I haven't really found any major glitches. Keep up the good work, app designers. Please fix the audible thingy, however. Continue to make good quality apps that are worth the consumers' time and money. There are apps that I regret purchasing but not this one, but the audio thing is too slow sometimes.Show lessMíko
Very nice dictionary
This is a very nice dictionary. Especially nice is the list of idioms and phrases that are instantly available for each word you look up. Those are worth double the price of the dictionary. The included verb conjugations are icing on the cake ... A thick layer of icing.
I don't think that I've opened my book-form dictionary since I bought this one.

Excelente, excellent
This and Ultralingua are the two best translation apps I have found. While UL is clean and fast, Word Magic adds more meat to the definitions and is especially useful for finding words included in a phrase, like "military intelligence," for example. I would say that Word Magic is better for "exploration."
PS - I wish people who review apps would stick to reviewing the app and not use reviews to ventilate their tech support frustrations UNLESS they have attempted to contact support multiple times and the company has failed to respond. In that case, the lack of response is a valid issue, but down rating an app because the latest version doesn't run on your ancient iPod and you haven't even tried to resolve it with the company is insulting to them and us. /rant offShow lessmarkopanama

Very good. easy to use. I still come accross words which are not in the dictionary though, which is somewhat disappointing.

Price vs performance
I bought another dictionary first. This one cost double but it's dirt cheap. I just started using it and I have to write this review now. I love this. I type anything in, spelled wrong, no accents, english or spanish ....and it is already guessing correctly what I am looking for. The descriptions are thorough and complex enough to be accurate. It is simple to use and fast. And when I thought it couldn't get any better, ....yes it talks too! The definitions will speak if you like. If you have a good start on Spanish or it is day one for you, this is what you need. There are so many forms of the verbs. In other dictionaries you need to know the correct spelling of the infinitive form of the verb. In this one, you can get almost everything wrong and still spot the word you need in a list.
Well done! EASILY worth the money. Compare the features and think about it. Even though I paid for my other dictionary, I can see no reason to let it take space on my iPad. This one is that good.Show lesskitten.juggler
Decent Dictionary, Good Value
I original gave this 4 stars when I reviewed it. The recent update addressed ALL of the issues I'd raised which is fantastic, it's great to see a developer listening to their users and genuinely pushing their product forward. The new app is excellent and, as before, provides an excellent dictionary for the price.
The only thing now missing is an upgrade path to the unabridged dictionary. This has about 80-90% of the words I look up, but it'd be nice to know what the remainder mean!Show lessContinuity1978
