  • actually a really good app

    despite the negative reviews, my experience with the app has been majorly good. i use it every day on my TV to use Simulcast, it makes watching the cable channel much more streamlined. its also really good on watching while I'm on my break at work since i have late night shifts. and if that wasn't enough, marathon streams are actually awesome. if i'm in the mood for something thats not on the cable channel, i can pick some of my favorite shows on the channel at will. the two things i could say negatively is that every time you choose a new marathon, theres no cooldown for introduction ads (the ones that play when you pick a show) a 30 second cooldown can make picking a show much more streamlined….especially if you're a tad indecisive. and atleast on the TV apps, you cannot choose between Simulcast East and West like you can on the mobile ports. this app has been a daily driver for a couple years, and its practically the only TV i watch anymore. i don't get the criticism either. “too many ads” because apparently free access to several shows wasn't enough so satisfy your hunger. but hey awesome app! stay awesome.

  • Decent app but could improve

    I have had the adult swim app on my last couple phones and always really enjoyed it when wanting to watch some shows. However, the issues I'm currently facing involve the loading of available shows. I can watch the marathon streams and can sometimes watch them through there. When i select 'shows' and pick one, it never loads the options and always says there is a problem. I have tried restarting my phone and it didn't work. I am always connected to wifi so, I don't think its an signal issue but it is still agitating. Other than those, the app works great and don't have much streaming issues that i have seen on other reviews.

  • App is a nightmare, just use the website

    App is janky and clumsy. Playback is a buggy mess. Not worth the frustration of the video freezing with the audio still playing, struggling to click and drag the timeline-progress-bar thing back a few seconds (there is no skip 10 seconds button), then, not knowing how far back you dragged (when you are dragging the timeline, there is no feature to see the frames of the show to tell where you are), and, inevitably, going back too far, you just say “f*** it, ill just rewatch a couple minutes” because the thought of having to go through that process again makes you want to swan dive off a bridge into oncoming traffic. But what’s this? The video is playing, but there’s no audio and the black, drippy “loading” animation is strobing over the show, but, (luckily) you’re not epileptic, so it’s just kinda irritating to look at and only gives you a small headache instead. Then, you try to pause it and unpause it in a feeble attempt at troubleshooting, but when you unpause it nothing happens and the show is now completely frozen, so you have to double click and swipe to quit out. And finally, while staring at your blank home screen, you decide that instead of putting your mental and physical wellbeing at risk by reopening the app and trying again, you’ll just delete the app and use the website.

    Also the ads are annoying there are too many ads

  • So much potential ruined by poor programming

    When it works, it’s a great app. Only issue is it barely ever works.

    Usually you can’t cast to Chromecast, but sometimes you can. Sometimes the episodes simply don’t load. Sometimes you can’t rewind or fast forward, it just plays advertisements then loads exactly where you were. Sometimes it flashes like a strobe light in a seizure-inducing manner and requires being closed and reopened (and then you hope it doesn’t try to give you a seizure again). When it does manage to cast it freezes when commercials try to play and require disconnecting from the TV, watch the ads on the phone, then recast and pray it doesn’t jump 3 minutes ahead in the episode.

    Amazing application with good shows ruined by an app that is trash and barely ever works correctly.

  • Love [AS]

    Love Adult Swim, however the app tends to have issues on cellular/poor signal, especially with the Simulcast (generally fails to load video, and will play audio only until the phone goes to sleep). Reloading the stream generally fixes this, but some days are worse than others. Additionally I’ve been noticing a common issue lately where it states I’m not authorized by my cable provider to view content (mobile app and web). Sometimes closing the app, clearing caches, and re-logging into my cable provider works, but other times I’ve gone days where either my desktop or mobile device can’t load content. Feature-Wise, it’d be amazing to add PiP Would also be nice if you could add stream quality control to the desktop website as well, as I can get better quality by casting the mobile app to my tv than I do from my connected desktop.

    Edit: issues still exist, and now new ones, to make it worse. Still no picture in place which every other streaming service seems to have managed. New issues include being unable to watch the Simulcast during your new hours, which I was looking forward to.

    Hey, thanks for the feedback. For the signal issue, we recommend using a stable wifi connection for the best viewing experience. When bandwidth isn't available, your stream will default to an audio only mode like you described. We'll take a look at the other points you listed. Thank you for your time
  • It would appear that the developer is not convinced that there is a problem with this app

    If you read the reviews from newest to oldest, you will see that all are complaining not about the advertising, but about how the commercials are interfering, delaying, lagging which affects the user experience.

    I say this because every single time someone brings this up, the developer responds with a version of this canned response:

    “That shouldn't be happening. When you get a moment, send us an email with your device details so we can take a look at what's going on. “

    STOP BLAMING THE USER, THE USER DEVICES AND ASKING THEM TO TAKE EVEN MORE TIME TO BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION; IT IS 100% CLEAR THAT YOU HAVE A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH YOUR ADVERTISING APP, API OR WHATEVER IS FAILING!

    Personally, I will be reaching out to Omni com Media Group’s PHD, Burger King’s media agency of record to let them know that not a single Burger King ad on this app plays through without frustrating the viewer and they should download the app and see for themselves that their advertising on the adult swim channel in counterproductive, it makes users want to boycott Burger King for shoving these lagging ads in our face.

    Okay developer, let’s see another “That shouldn’t be happening “ response.

    Or, perhaps, you can finally own up to the issue?

    I have never blamed the user for the issue, stop projecting. I simply ask you to provide us more information so our dev team can take a look at what ads are causing the issues so we can address the problem. Whether they let us know which ads work or not is up to the user because we can't guess which ads work and don't work. If you feel the need to reach out to BK's agency, go ahead or you could send us an email detailing which ads are causing issues so we can test the problem.
  • Broken

    I am on mobile and in its current state I would count this app as broken. If you want to fast forward or backward it is impossible. I get into a loading feedback loop, it loads just the sound and no picture, or it just never works. I find it extremely frustrating if i miss something and have to use a non user friendly slide bar. I think you should implement a 10-15 second skip forward or backward. Even with this it would still probably break. Love the app thank you for great shows.

  • Shamefully Incomplete App

    The video options for my iPhone 11 is nonexistent. The 30 seconds of ads at the beginning of a show also plays the first 30 seconds of the show. Any attempt to rewind anywhere within those first 30 seconds starts the 30 second ads again only to start the show 30 seconds in. I could accept this if it was the early 2000’s, but this is basic swift programming, and I refuse to believe these feature are just too advanced for the app developers. Not to mention all the other problems users are experiencing with this app. I would be embarrassed if I was the one maintaining it.

  • App does not work with TV provider and randomly freezes after ads.

    With all that said I also need to rewatch ads when the app freezes itself. The app is not very responsive and is also difficult to rewind and fast forward slightly, for example they don’t have a 10 sec skip fast forward or backwards. This just makes the app overall frustrating to use, I have also seen these reviews everywhere and you guys don’t seem to resolve the issues. Just hope you guys can change it cause you have some amazing content but the glitches are too annoying to deal with to be able to watch anything.

    There’s nothing bad I have to say so… how are you doing as many people forget when they write these reviews that their is a real person behind responding to them. But over all getting good moments in life. I mean it’s only fitting to take a break once in while. This channel has been apart of my life for a while so to find out I can watch it on the go was the bestttt🤞🏾🤞🏾 been a very good week for me. How has it been for you?
