Great rpg

Companions has the best rpg interface for the iPad that I have seen so far. These guys clearly know how to develop for the platform. I can't wait to see what they do next.

Companions

Complicated to learn the controls and not always user friendly but completely absorbing if you like D&D style multi character games

Good fun!

It is like Classic Gauntlet with items and leveling!

Loads of fun!

Been playing for hours!

I love it!

Very creative. The developers must have put a lot of effort into this.

Well worth the cost. :)

If I could make a request, a nicer icon could be in order! I don't like the current one. :S

Awesome dungeon crawl

Ignore the review saying there is no save game, true only for the tutorial, you can save anywhere in the campaign as well as generous autosaves.

Can be frustrating but you can solve any problem with multiple characters and weapons and powers. Be patient and build a ton of traps or jump in and hack or slash.

Very fun, many hours of entertainment!

Great game!

Been having fun with this. Well done devs, very polished.

Fantastic!

Tactical dungeon crawler with tower defence elements. Challenging, thinky and fun. Recommended.

Update: about 5 hours into the main campaign now and this darn game keeps getting better. Surprising tactical depth bearing in mind the small skill count. Very challenging game. Been stuck a few times and had to actually rethink the plan of attack which is a welcome change over most d&d style games.

Easily the best dungeon crawler on the app store today!

The controls are good.

The moment i start playing Companions I notice how well done the point and click controls are. The gameplay is inspired very much by the likes of baldurs gate and torment, there are player icons to select out of the four warriors and also special moves and the ability to pause and plan out fighting strategies. I think you put lots of time into the story as well, the way each of the characters are introduced into the dungeon with their own background story. Don't get mad but I thought the only thing bringing it down was how slow the warriors traverse the dungeon this is obvious when the dungeon is big and have to wait for minotaur to arrive at his destination. I would suggest speeding up gameplay and make the warriors just run faster, since it doesnt matter how fast fighting is with the tactical pause. In spite of the slight tweaking I think this game has potential and I want to play and see more.

Needs adjustments and save.

Ok it's a five star game with one star issues. First off and worst no auto save nor menu save. It only saves at major plot points and the game doesn't support multitasking. Which means you must sit down for long periods of time. Please add a menu save or auto save so this is grab and go play. Second. The setting easy least isnt easy. I keep dying because there are no monster drops ever and no potions to be found. Make easy more easy dude! Third there is no music. Really? Add some darn music the sounds are lame and I can't even play my own music. I'd rather have good game music. All that said. Lots of combinations of characters and gameplay. Playing four at once is clumsy but at least it's a new idea to me. Love the detail and story. Make the fixes above I'll give you five stars all the way and all my friends and family will
Purchase also!

Dungeon Crawler/RPG love.

If you have been looking for a game to take you back to the AD&D game days then you are in luck. This game offers a nice choice of character classes that adds variety to the gameplay. There are lots of equipment to help keep the game interesting and also the ability to play single maps incase you want a quick fix. Overall a unique and fun experience that will keep you busy for hours. Great job Smuttlewerk!
