Used to be brilliant...not anymore
So I decided to download this game again as I used to love it. After reading all the negative reviews, especially regarding the ones on over-sensitivity, I didn’t believe them...unfortunately they’re true. You haven’t got much control over the football anymore and there’s wild curve on it when you don’t mean to do it. No point in playing anymore. Deleted.Show lessTrueBluePage
Why did you update the engine?

Completely Ruined....
I want to preface this review by saying that I rarely ever write a review for anything.
I’ve been playing this game regularly ever since I bought my first iPhone (4). Even when I would get away from it for a while, it was one of the only few games I knew I would always eventually come back to; even if it was just to play one or two rounds of Skillshot. It had such an addictive and enjoyable quality to it. Controls were tight and intuitive and challenging myself to top my high score was always a blast.
This game hadn’t seen any significant update in years, and honestly that was fine. Yes, the visuals were a little dated, game modes were basic and the resolution was not optimized for newer screens, but the foundation was solid! Always great to just pick up and play.
Now what I’m about to say comes from a place of love for all the joy this game has given me over the years. This new update absolutely ruined this game. It is completely broken. The ball now feels like it’s made of lead, the controls feel like old Tiger handhelds, and the curving mechanic has plummeted off a cliff; it’s overtly sensitive, to the point of it making the game unplayable.
The graphical updates are great, and the game looks a lot more polished with a better resolution and smoother animations. But what good is the new look if the game is just so bad now??
I don’t know what the devs were going for here, but this can’t be it. If anyone associated with this game is reading this, I implore you to revert back to the old mechanics. Do right by the people who have loved this game for years!

Terrible Update Ruined Game
This used to be a fun time killer. You could precisely flick the ball between defenders and into the goal. They changed it so you no longer have any control of the ball and it wildly flies off the screen or over the goal post. Disappointing.XN Chicago
The update ruined my favorite game 😭
This used to be my favorite iPhone game, the update ruined the handling. The flick-to-shoot calibration used to be perfectly sensitive to shoot an intuitive shot. Now it’s more of a generic preset reaction to straight and curved shots, which takes out all the fun of the skill. So disappointing, I hope they change it back.Show lessGale Beggy
Update is bad
It used to be a great game because it curved as much as you wanted it to. But now after the update it curves so unbelievably much with a tiny little flick and there’s no in between from that to kicking it absolutely straight. Bad mechanics. Please put it back.Shamwoohoo113

Update 2: August 8. They say they fixed the game, but it’s still not right. The ball just flies too wide and too high a lot easier, is the only difference I see. It’s still nothing like before the big change.
Update: the update of 7/2 didn’t fix the game play. Ugh. Will delete if the next update doesn’t fix this, but not holding my breath.
What in the world did you devs do to the game? It’s ruined. Kicking doesn’t work and the graphics look worse. Ugh. If you had to add more ads, I get it, even if I don’t like it, but why cripple the mechanics of the actual game play? In the immortal words of Regina Belle, “Make It Like It Was”! They changed a great game
Me and my brother used to play this game all the time and compete for a better score. All of that changed today when we tried to play and the ball was curving uncontrollably and going way higher and wider than normal. The old game was way better.user1894673
