Addictive racer
Overall I enjoy Death Rally. The graphics are beautiful and well crafted. The game play is good and offers several entertaining tracks, a number of challenges and some cool upgrades.
I am not a fan of the controls though, and found them awkward and at times detrimental to my racing brilliance. A number of times my thumb would slide out of the dpad area especially around a series of tight corners. I'd like to see an option to enable a left right steering mechanism or even a tilt control to enhance the playing experience.
Worthy of four stars, but worthy of five if the controls were a touch better.

Perfect!!!
I have never been a fan of any car/racing games full stop, until this one! This game is so addictive! Once I downloaded it I played it for around 5 hours straight... I couldn't put it down for a second! I honestly can't fault it! From the graphics to the gameplay/controls this game is pure awesome!
Please, please add more cars, weapons, and levels in an update! I really can't get enough of this game!
P.s. For those complaining about paying for it and now it being free for a day, I understand that you'd be a tad disappointed about that, but myself, I wouldn't be complaining. I'd of happily payed full price for this game!

Good gameplay
Nice game - I remember playing the original on my Amiga back in the day. I'm not sure what other posters found difficult about the controls - they were fine IMHO.
The gameplay is good, but the upgrades in the campaign Were a kittle quick and easy to complete.

Disappointment
Awful controls, none of the control schemes worked for me, Because youre so used to having your thumb resting on a stick or dpad of some sort, youre never sure where to put your thumb on the screen to turn unless you actually look at the on screen stick, but take your eyes off the road for one second and youll be flying into the wall, and it seems like theres a million things on the map to clip your car on. Controls are the most important part of any game, if you cant get that right, then the rest is a waste of time. ALL shooting and driving games are terrible for the iPhone, this is no exception, this doesnt deserve to be called Death Rally, Remedy, WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN DOING ALL THESE YEARS?

Fantastic game
This game is good and takes a while to get used to the controls but the downside is once you've maxed out there is not much to do but if u like this game it will give you a good entertainment for one dollar twenty nine but I think this game is awesome and can't stop playing. Yea boy!!!
Just keeps getting better!
Still just as awesome as ever. I just don't want you to forget those of us still on original iPads. These things aren't cheap.

TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO THINK THE CONTROLS ARE HARD -- Step 1-just deal with it until u win some money. Step 2-upgrade the handling on your vehicle. Step 3- problem solved.

Lots of Crashes!
The game is simple enough and has been done many times. It looks nice and the upgrades keep me wanting to play. Unfortunately, the software crashes stop this from happening. I'm playing on a first generation iPad. Is that the problem? Either way, I cannot recommend this game until it runs on my pad.

Great game.
It takes a few laps to get the hang of the controls but after that it's fine. Struggling hard to find how the controls are hard for anyone who's taken the time to learn them.
Update 3 disappointing
Update 3 has pretty much killed the fun of this game.
The in-app purchases speed up gameplay which only serves to finish it quicker. Once finished the only thing to do is to try to get up the leader board which is full of impossibly high scores from either cheating or bugs.
Fun while it lasts but I wouldn't recommend in-app purchases, the fun will last longer if you abstain.
