Disappointment
Awful controls, none of the control schemes worked for me, Because youre so used to having your thumb resting on a stick or dpad of some sort, youre never sure where to put your thumb on the screen to turn unless you actually look at the on screen stick, but take your eyes off the road for one second and youll be flying into the wall, and it seems like theres a million things on the map to clip your car on. Controls are the most important part of any game, if you cant get that right, then the rest is a waste of time. ALL shooting and driving games are terrible for the iPhone, this is no exception, this doesnt deserve to be called Death Rally, Remedy, WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN DOING ALL THESE YEARS?Show lessDavid Devellerez
Fantastic game
This game is good and takes a while to get used to the controls but the downside is once you've maxed out there is not much to do but if u like this game it will give you a good entertainment for one dollar twenty nine but I think this game is awesome and can't stop playing. Yea boy!!!Shoelace12345

Death Rally rules all racing games
TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO THINK THE CONTROLS ARE HARD -- Step 1-just deal with it until u win some money. Step 2-upgrade the handling on your vehicle. Step 3- problem solved.

Lots of Crashes!
The game is simple enough and has been done many times. It looks nice and the upgrades keep me wanting to play. Unfortunately, the software crashes stop this from happening. I'm playing on a first generation iPad. Is that the problem? Either way, I cannot recommend this game until it runs on my pad.Show lessHarvard Kiwi
Great game.
It takes a few laps to get the hang of the controls but after that it's fine. Struggling hard to find how the controls are hard for anyone who's taken the time to learn them.dMattb
Update 3 disappointing
Update 3 has pretty much killed the fun of this game.
The in-app purchases speed up gameplay which only serves to finish it quicker. Once finished the only thing to do is to try to get up the leader board which is full of impossibly high scores from either cheating or bugs.
Fun while it lasts but I wouldn't recommend in-app purchases, the fun will last longer if you abstain.
Original Update 2 review:
Controls take a bit to get the hang of and one of the tracks is pretty hard with the faster cars or when racing nitro.
Played the original Death Rally on PC years ago and this is a worthy successor.
For graphics and gameplay this is probably the best value game on the app store and runs fantastically on iPad2.Show lessKNoAsh

I said i would give u 5 stars if u added an extra control scheme, so here are those extra stars! U guys are champs!
But one more thing - how about one more separate button for fire. Rather than auto fire. Auto fire is no fun, neither is auto accelerate. Separate buttons for all rather than bundling two buttons into one. More buttons = more control = more power to the people.
Dear Remedy, can you please release an update which gives us the choice of directional controls. At the moment I am not enjoying solely because of the unintuitive control scheme. Also not a fan of auto accelerate. Once you fix this up I will enjoy and rate 5 stars.Show lessTwenty90seven
Awesome game!
Love this game, great gameplay and graphics, only one bugbear is the controls, good on normal races but not so much on the others e.g. reversed etc. Keep up the awesome updates!!Blat450

I think that the game is amazing but when I first got it the controls in my hands it was impossible to use!! This turned out that after a while I got used to them but still coming last. Also I realised that even when u have fully upgraded ur car e.g the last one u unlock to gold plated or what ever it is it still goes the same speed as the crappy car u automatically unlock. Then theres the nitro, picture this I am driving along coming first and then u see this nitro boost so you drive over to the boost and when u get it (this is for me anyway) you start to speed up and then when u go round a tight corner u randomly start to spin of in circles and u can NOT stop it, next thing you know is that every one has hit u wiv a missile and ur coming last. Also there is a glitch in da game when you go onto the missiles challenge let's say u unlock a new car the missiles stay on the other car so this was pretty sweet until I actually unlocked them. I would also recommend that u can have different views of the car e.g looking in from the drivers seat, plus I'm recommending that you have different ,controls such as turn the device.
