Basic

This app is fine but wish it had other options for the tick. I find myself using other apps like Soundbrenner or SpeakBeat way more.

The best keeps getting better

Every update of this well-crafted software adds features, putting it even farther ahead of the "competition." (I use quotes because there really is no competition.) The new ability to add note values such as 16th = 96, even if for only one bar, greatly increases the ability to match an actual piece of music. The word "songs" seems to have disappeared, with a more professional "library" tab instead. All of the good stuff from the previous version is retained, such as the ability to slow down or speed up a piece globally, keeping odd meters in proportion. Although this app works great on an iphone, I really love it on my iPad, as everything is luxuriously big that way. This is a small download, not expensive for what it is capable of. Are you a classical musician who needs to learn contemporary music (or Stravinsky?) This app is for you!!

Update- the latest update looks even better, esp. on the iPad. Now all we need is a Watch version;).

Great app... But

Great app! Highly intuitive for musicians of all kinds. Programmable feature is the best! However, adding options for different metronome sounds would be great, rather than just different notes (also fixing that screen because I think it only displays properly when iPhone is horizontal). Also, more options for the count off feature (number of beats, sound, etc).

Missing important feature

I like a lot of the features of this app - the customizing of mixed meters, the saving of songs with a tempo, the setting of the click sound, the ability to set a sound off measure, to name a few. But there is a serious failing. Unless I missed it, the tempo sets only to a quarter-note. There seems to be no provision for a metronome marking of 66 to the dotted quarter, for example. It's more than a little inconvenient to have to do the math every time one is faced with compound meters. This really needs to be addressed.

Almost....

Really excellent simple interface for creating patterns of multiple bars - but unfortunately this app is let down badly by the lack of any click sounds there are only beeps, no clicks or samples. If this was fixed I would rate it 4 or 5 stars.

Simply brilliant

I've never bothered to review any App before this but this one deserves it. It is quite simply brilliant. Simple yet able to handle complex time signatures in a way that "classical" musicians understand. Fantastic for learning contemporary repertoire and quick to set up. Thank you mr van den Oord!
My wish list for the next update:
1. Able to set tempo changes throughout a pattern
2. To then be able to vary the tempi of the whole pattern maintaining those tempo relationships.
3. More presets available for each pattern
4. Some different sounds....even just a few different woodblock sounds would be an improvement.
