  • Love this app!

This is great for busy people. You can do a draft over days, whenever you have a few spare minutes. So far no bugs that I've noticed.
  • Great app, could be smarter.

The Interface for the app is excellent. I love the layout and swiping to pick. The playtester is great too!

I knocked a star off because the AI seems kinda dumber than other web simulators. I'm ending up with WAY too many "1st pick" cards coming to me at picks 5,6,7+, not to mention weak decks picked by opponents.

Also, to all the people complaining that sets cost $3, grow a pair! That's less than the cost of a pack for an on the go draft sim that's gonna last 3 months. Do you really want ads Filling up valuable screen space? Dude spent some major time coding, give him his beer $$

  • Amazingly helpful...

I've just begun collecting and playing Magic and this app has been fantastic. Marlon Egolf's reviews and ranks have given me a confidence in knowing that I can be knowledgeable when going to my local shop to play. Eagerly anticipating the Dark Ascension set info.
  • 4-pack sealed

Great app. Built-in support for 4 pack sealed would be nice, but it can be simulated by switching 2 of the packs to a different set and shoving all those cards into the sideboard.
  • OK app

It's good for what it does, I guess. It has pretty poor human simulation, though. Why would I get passed a Snapcaster pack 1, pick 3 in an ISD draft? I even have the money draft setting on making it more likely for someone to rare draft.
  • Great, well thought-out app

My one critique is that swapping between the commentary (which is great) and the actual card is a bit clunky. I'd give us noobs the option of a view setting where we see comments and the real card info on one screen. (maybe landscape with card on left and comments on right?

To the people complaining about costs per set. Designing an app like this isn't a Saturday project, it takes an incredible amount of time and thought- be thankful someone was willing and able to do it.

  • Great app

Magic is an expensive hobby. I don't mind paying a few bucks for a new set. There is some great commentary on the cards that you won't find with the draft sim web sites.

One thing I'd like to see added would be the ability to change the # of packs you open in the sealed sim. I do a lot of
4 pack sealed events and can only sim 6 pack events with this app.

  • Just like a sim on the computer

The critique of the cards is on point and the drafting feels fair enough. The computers don't seem dumb. Would love to see package deals on expansions for people who would like to buy all of them like me.
Update: thanks for the bundle option but I get an error in app stating no description or price.

Don't let the poor reviews deter you. This app is pretty good and there are not any better. 3$ for a new set is not ridiculous. It's about the cost of a pack. Get a job or something.

  • X & 0 thanks to this app

Hit the top 8 of a PTQ last weekend, then I was obliterated in the draft because I had only drafted the set once before. So I downloaded this app, played a bunch of mock drafts, and then went 3-0 in a draft this weekend. Great app, thanks!
  • Top of the Line

This app is a blast to use and is highly informative, making it easy to learn the best cards to draft for when it really matters. Besides Egolf's expert advice, the app itself is well designed with a good UI and is updated often. The drafting bot AI is the best I've seen so far in either iphone/ipad or web apps, and there are even settings to change the AI to money draft. Yes, you have to buy the new sets that come out, but this is top notch stuff and the cost is the same as a cup of coffee.

If you want a quality, up-to-date app for practicing your draft skills ( or just an app to have fun drafting with ), this is it.
