No feature to save progress. Finicky about word building.
It’s June 2013 and since I saw similar comments from a long time ago, I thought that these bugs were fixed. We bought this app to contribute to the work this team is doing, but I’m disappointed that there is no feature to save work. My kid has to start over every time and this is very frustrating, after they successfully completed the work before (Montessori way). Further, the rectangles where the letters have to be placed a fuzzy about where the letter has to be positioned. This is not relevant to the movable alphabet, so it’s also very frustrating to my kid, when the box doesn’t turn green. It would be great to have the save feature and the rectangles be less buggy.Show lessbcortez91
Sound wont work

Glitch - sound glitch on “l”
Hello,
There’s a glitch where the “l” is placed; when you click on it, it sounds like “o” instead of sounding like “l”

Great but flawed
The app is just what I was looking for except that it sometimes doesn’t sense where the letters are placed exactly so sometimes the game doesn’t say it’s right (green box) even when it is. This leads to lots of frustration and confusion.Adman87
Question
My son loves the app. My only complaint is that half the time he identifies the letters of the word correctly but the box does not turn green. Is there a reason for this or a way to fix this issue?CGE1979

Hi don't forget to place the dot over the letters i and j - you need these to complete the word! We're glad your son is enjoying the app!A little disappointed
Sometimes the word directly across from the picture doesn’t match what the speaker says... you end up having words and their spelling match diagonally (fox=pen, pen=fox)
Also the letter tray has the alphabet letters out of order in the bottom row.
For as anal as the Montessori method is, I am dismayed that these obvious mistakes haven’t been fixed by now.Show lessOilstories

Its a nice app but just on the 3rd page in word set 1, the box for letter “j” for “jam” is looking half colored, I checked the next pages and there are many more like that and that is only on the word set 1.
The problem with that is those words with the half colored boxes don't light up when answered correctly, which results in frustration.
I was so happy to see my child working on the letter words only for 5 minutes.
I really hope it is fixed ASAP

Thank you for the response, we have actually figured out the problem soon after I posted the review. Totally my bad I am embarrassed for my comments when I realized this.
The app IS working great, my son loves it and it does help my son learn the phonics even his Montessori teacher noticed his progress. It is a FIVE STAR!

Thanks for your review, however, please note you need to place the "dot" over the 'j' to complete the word. The same is true for the letter 'i.' We've checked this thoroughly and everything works as designed. Thanks!Changes needed
This app would be better if there was the option to use control words (words spelled out already). I hope the developer makes this change. At the moment it remains too intimidating for my preschooler.emarieke

Here's a tip. Instead of focusing on constructing the word by sight, do so by sound. That's why you can touch each letter in the box and hear how it sounds. Children can thus search for the sound they think they need and locate the letters. Thanks!Jo’s and G’s don’t light up when spelled correctly

Don't forget the dot over the j when spelling out the word! We checked on the g and all seems ok, just try to center the letters as best you can...thx!Having trouble
