  • Nice app

Nice app, but not a service that benefits either photographer or artist. Like so many virtual, internet-related services, it is paramount that the professional or even serious hobbyist look at the who-benefits factor! EyeEm as a company benefit very well indeed with the top-end benefit principle applied. It’s the mass market, economy-of-scale idea gone a bit crazy: those who supply all the work EyeEm has centred its business nerve centre around get tuppence ha-penny, whilst the ‘real’ money for the photographers’/artists’ ‘virtual’ input goes only to EyeEm to sustain their crew of few. No-one is going to buy individual rights’ protected images at single image cost; search-word targeted portfolios are sold with often hundreds of thousands of images. The portfolio gets the money, the single image does not (2 pence here and there). Now, all you artists and photographers out there mostly know about this; just don’t think you’re going to make any money out of this, as the idea that is peddled is not yours but EyeEm’s. That’s all.

  • Unable to get pics approved

I was hopeful about this as a hobby and as a passive fun way to earn some extra cash. 2/3 of my photo uploaded were rejected for no technical or other reason listed. When I emailed the tech support team they agreed that the pixels and format were fine and proceeded to manually approve them. They have not fixed the problem and I have several photos sitting there with no approval. I emailed tech support again and they have started ignoring my messages. It’s too bad this didn’t work out.

  • Easy to use and share

Absolutely the easiest App I have on my phone and by far the one I use most (replacing Pinterest). It’s photographs by people with such a diverse range of interests that you can’t help wander around and find inspiration for the next project. Reviews are taking a little longer these days but that’s probably because it’s more popular and there’s simply more to review.

Well done the EyeEm team and don’t be bought out by jealous rivals, you have the recipe bang on and I wish you every success on your own.

  • Slow

I like it but it’s frustratingly slow. Enough to put me off which is a pity
  • I don’t trust them

They had a serious data breach, my data was included, and sadly they failed to notify me as they are obliged to under GDPR rules. I was advised by a third party, so deleted all my content, my account and the app. If, despite the risks, you do use EyeEm, I would advise entering fake account details, as in my experience of over 5 years, nothing at all was sold, so not worth providing any real data that might end up on the dark web, as mine did.

  • Impossible to sell any images on this app

This app has in the last 6 months been impossible to even get an image on the market , as opposed to the 2 yrs previous when I could have most images in partner collection. There’s been a change in whose in charge of vetting images and far Be it from them knowing a decent shot of it came up and kissed them. I’m far from a great photographer, but I do consistently take interesting and worthy images, but after 2.5 yrs of first making the cut, to then being rejected and without so much as a way to dispute, I’m sick of trying to sell images on this app, they take far too much of your earnings, and they reek of snobbery when they ought to look at the real world and not believe that “the new normal” and mask wearers are worthy of being paid money for, steer clear!

  • Love this app

I’ve had this app for several years. I’ve made about $200 on one of my photos throughout the years. I didn’t expect to make money because I’m not exactly a professional, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised!
  • Hooked

Only a few days in as user and I’m hooked. I’m not a photographer by any means, but I do love capturing unforgettable moments . Until now, I may share one or two w a family member; and the rest of the time they just built up and went unseen. This app is very connected . I don’t expect to make any profit from the photos I submit. It’s really just great getting to share moments that would otherwise be trapped in storage or a cloud airlifting idle.

  • 8 year use.

I’ve been on this app every bit of 7 year of good use from learning it to competing in the challenges. I have yet to sell a photo, at this point idk what type of market it is they use but if your not a big time photo editor this the photo want get a sell. I’ve taken 3 photo I know should’ve sold at this point but no, it’s very low exposure to me but to each it’s own as I said I’ve used this app 7 could be 8 very long years building and learning and still as a simple model nothing.
