  • Australian voice

I'm having trouble with the word "am" in the Australian voice, even after I've added the pronunciation suggestion. It says 'A' - 'M'. Is there a fix? Has potential.
  • Awesome

Yay this app worked for our spelling words, all done with rewards.
  • Keeps getting better

I remember downloading the first version of this app, and I liked the open-endedness of being able to create new words. I just upgraded to version 3.0, and am amazed at all of the new features, like integrated word lists, quizzes and numbers. It looks like there is also the ability to create customized word lists - nice work!

  • Great for teachers!

We use this app in our school as a part of our multisensory phonics program for students with dyslexia and other reading disabilities, and we love it! Students can manipulate letters, hearing their sounds as they are touched and words as they are formed. Spelling lists can be customized, so students can practice a preset pattern or group of words. I recommend this app to parents as well - it's a great way to practice spelling words each week!

  • I actually liked and enjoyed this app but ...

My students in special education love this application!
  • Wonderful app but

Wonderful app but can you make the letter 'U' say 'u' as in up not 'uh'.. It gets confusing for the Aussie kids
  • Excellent app, LOVE the Aussie voice!

Word Wizard is a fantastic app for practising sentence making, spelling and spelling tests. We use it often for practising spelling and having fun making words and sentences. The visual reward at the end of an activity is especially appealing to kids who are visually oriented. I love the option that prevents kids from making swear words. But most of all I LOVE the new AUSSIE ACCENT!!!!

One of our favourite educational apps just got better. I highly recommend it. Congratulations L'Escapardou!!

  • Teaching tool

I love this app, it's great for helping with auditory processing and can be used many ways to learn how well a student is learning phonics. The placing of letters in defined spaces helps children to structure simple sentences. I use it a lot for informal assessment in my work with children with speech and language difficulties.

  • Very complicated for a 40 year it engineer

It is so complicated to use that it is not usable. Navigation is poor and most importantly as far as words and phonics which are key - does not have audio support.
  • Perfect children's app

Both our 4- and 6-year old grandsons love playing it. For them it's a game that competes w other-nonlearning (imho) games. It has lots of important features, like a parent being able to silence sounding out curse words or only a parent being able to access tools. Let me echo that the developer is very responsive to (even my stupid) questions.
