Ok, google was better

Using this app in Normandy, the app gives you no advance warning only tells you the next street, but it’s just to go straight, so you end up looking at your phone WAAY too much just to be told in 30 m go straight, and then in 50 m go straight, repeatedly. Google maps gave me much clearer direction and kept me on bike routes. This app has potential, but no way I’m paying a penny for it…

Fantastic exploration companion

This app has both helped me track my rides efficiently as well as find new ones. I love how simple it is to start recording a tour, or to plan a route down to turn by turn details. The map is robust and shows important information like surface/path type, elevation, and notable stops on routes that include photos from the community. I gave the app 4/5 stars because while the function is great, the interface is a bit bland, and a dark mode for night riding would be great.

Needs Work

We have been attempting to use this app for bike touring through Greece. It has been inconvenient and frustrating. It takes us on the local roads and then it seems like the point is to get you off the main road, but we are already off the main road and it ends up taking us on a dirt road, and if there’s even another path, it will take us there. we cannot use this app. We hoped It would provide a reliable route without having to do the work myself to verify the plan. it’s also frustrating to be flying down a hill and have it tell you there’s a turn coming up, but actually it’s just a curve in the road. Needs some work in the details. I cannot recommend this app as a reliable source unless you want to research each recommended route.

Pourquoi Komoot ne me suggère pas TOUJOURS de suivre une piste cyclable quand il y en a une? Le trajet proposé est parfois juste à côté! Vos cartes sont elles à jours??

Crashing app and does what it wants to

I’ve been a Komoot member for about 4 years now and I love it, BUT you might ask why I gave it 3 stars then, it’s because as a PREMIUM member I expect a premium service, sometimes Komoot does what IT wants to do and not what I want it to do, for instance, yesterday (and not only on the following ride) while on a ride in the Peak District Komoot unbenowned to me decided to pause my ride, it didn’t unpause it although I was still getting instructions where to ride, eventually this stopped too and I had to rely on my Garmin, there was no phone signal where I was riding so my Wife was unable to contact me to check I was ok, I only realised this issue when I got back to my car and was receiving a signal, I signed up to PREMIUM for the tracker feature as I have health issues so it’s very annoying when it doesn’t work properly, the app also crashes when I’m typing replies to fellow Komoot’ers and when typing, Komoot keeps adding a full stop and then carry’s on with a capital letter which is also very frustrating and for some reason my directions have been changed to metric which I hate, you need to get your act together Komoot or there’s a good chance I’ll jump ship to another service 😡😡

Not a good app for British Columbia

Trying to download map of Cowichan Valley 8 trail ! They don’t have it? What do they have ? Very little.
I do not recommend this app .

Thanks for your feedback! Komoot uses OpenStreetMap (OSM) data, which relies on community contributions. If certain trails or areas aren't well-covered, it might be due to incomplete OSM data. We encourage users to contribute to OSM to improve map accuracy. Your input helps make the app better for everyone!

The program does everything that I need it to and it seems like it could do a lot more. Very easy to use.

Great tool for mapping

Love the app. Once you use it a few times it is simple to use. Really like that the pictures taken are placed on the route where they were taken.
It really is a 5 star rating but gave it 4 stars because the type of sport selection doesn’t include any motorsports. We use Waverunners, Side by sides, snowmobiles, motorcycles and sometimes small aircraft. Perhaps it was designed for eco tourism sports only but works great on any mode of transportation

Not for me

Appears I purchased world pack. Thought I purchased premium. Paid 25 bucks and keeps prompting me to purchase premium. Do I need to spend yet another 30 to get premium? To late for refund and wish i didn’t purchase.
