2.0.0

July 7, 2015

• This update is a complete reorganization of this app. • Now only uses a line to represent the pattern (rather than line, V or S). • Now drag the colors/shapes into place... like the number tiles in my Line ‘em Up app... (rather than tapping a button representing the next color or shape). • Now user can “fill in” the pattern in any order rather than just the next element in the sequence. • Now user can set the inital illustration of the pattern to start at the far left or at a random point in the line. • Now only uses five colors and five shapes (rather than eight of each). • Now has option for up to six “user defined” patterns with two to five elements in each. • Now easily turn sound off and on from menu bar (rather than going back to the options screen). • UI now matches my other apps

Reviews of Patterns Colors and Shapes

  • Not What I Had Hoped For...

I had high hopes for using this app with my Kindergarten students. However, imagine my disappointment when I opened the app to try it out and discovered when I tapped the new pattern, a line of blank circles. I tried hitting every button. After going back from the options screen, a pattern appeared. Then when I tried to tap the color, nothing happened. Again, once I tapped the help button, the color appeared. It should not require tapping of other buttons after every color tap to complete a single pattern. This happened not just on one iPad, but multiple iPads.
  • Disappointing

This program does not offer any reinforcement for correctly completing the patterns. It doesn't have sounds or animation and you must manually select to get the next pattern.... It doesn't automatically provide the next pattern after completing one. Overall very disappointing and certainly not the quality expected when having to pay for an app. BUMMED
