It is hard to believe it has been a few years since the last version of SCraMP! In a reflection of the years gone by, this version contains "under the hood" code updates and modernization that should make it run better on newer devices, without looking much different to end users. Additionally, I've added a thank you to the newest source of grant support for this, and related fishing vessel safety app work, from the Northeast Center for Occupational Health and Safety.

Version 3.13 features two new warning metrics. One metric helps identify potential parametric roll conditions by comparing roll period to pitch period and providing audible and visual warnings when this ratio approaches 2. The second metric helps identify heave periods and accelerations that may exacerbate motion sickness, specifically, periods between 5-6s with a heave acceleration larger than 0.2g.

Due to the removal of RSS support in Safari with iOS 6, I have removed the one-click buoy data launch option from the Location screen. It saddens me to remove any functionality, but with the bevy of excellent buoy apps in the App Store, it didn't seem to make sense to invest in coding a buoy reader specifically for SCraMP. As always, I welcome user feedback on this and other changes.

You asked and we listened! Version 3.8 includes audible alarms and universal iPad support. NOTE: iOS6 users, Apple has disabled the RSS feed reader in Safari thereby disabling the NOAA buoy data link. I'm going to wait it out a bit in hopes they add the RSS feature back in; otherwise, expect a fix in Version 3.9 in the not too distant future!
