Facelift? Letdown!
I use the app over 2 different Apple TVs, and the experience is absolutely terrible. It doesn’t matter which remote you use, a 3rd Gen touch pad, a 4th Gen button and touch wheel or the iPhone software Control Centre remote, it is nigh impossible to navigate the menus or choose what you want to watch: the selector sticks or disappears, the selector won’t move or isn’t visible, the menu animation sticks, stutters or isn’t visible and it basically makes the app a massive frustration to navigate and use.
App navigation isn’t something that a developer should struggle with, especially one where there are so many smoothe and functional examples. But I guess this is what happens when your sports broadcast monopoly subsidises your business and you can basically get away with poor quality because the customer has nowhere else to go to get live sport.
The USA has a good model: no one broadcaster can have all of any sport. NFL, NBA and MLB are all divided between the major sports networks and broadcasters. That makes more money for the sports themselves and creates competition which is good for the consumer.
So, when will we, the customers, be heard and be afforded good service and quality with regards to service, technology and choice?

“MultiChoice” of problems
It’s definitely useable. Although one is not wrong to expect a lot better for a service which charges an extortionate amount of money for very little in return.
