    I love this Checkbook app. It helps to link transfers between two accounts. This way you don’t have to work on them one at a time. The only thing I will say about creating a CATEGORY is be careful. Even if you do not continue to use a CATEGORY that you’ve made, DO NOT DELETE IT! Once you use it in the checkbook and delete it even if you stop using it, it will change the balances on your account! I made that mistake and had to go back the entire year to fix. What a headache! So if you make up a CATEGORY and decide to stop using it, leave it there because you already used it and any transactions already affiliated with it will be gone too once it’s deleted. It will mess up your ledger which means you’ll have to go to the beginning to fix.

  • APPLE IS TO BLAME FOR NOT REMOVING THIS APP

    Where is APPLE when there’s clearly an app that needs to be removed? Are they still charging for this app? If so, it’s fraudulent because the app doesn’t work and it’s been abandoned by the developer. I already contacted Apple long ago and suggested they remove this app since it no longer works and you can contact the developer as much as you want, but good luck getting any sort of acknowledgment. Don’t bother with this app. It no longer works like it’s supposed to, mainly, you cannot sign into your account and syncing between devices no longer works. I feel like I should be offered a refund and have contacted Apple with my concerns about this app and the lack of a response. Apple has done nothing as well apparently, because the app is still available. I always believed that Apple would weed out apps like this, but I guess I was mistaken. The developer has proven to be useless and APPLE needs to step in, as this app stopped syncing in June 2020. This is APPLE’s problem now, over 2 years since the app stopped working and they still haven’t done anything to prevent people from spending money on an app that doesn’t work.

  • No app support/ can’t login or reset password

    I have been using this app for at least 8 years.
    I was primarily using it on my iPad and had it downloaded on my phone and at one time they were both logged in and synced but at some point the phone was no longer syncing. Now I’ve gotten a new iPad and am unable to login with the most recent password and when I try to reset the password and push the reset button it goes nowhere! It appears that the app developer has changed hands and this app is now out of Shanghai, China. Anyway, I went under report a problem and then it doesn’t show my purchase so it won’t let me report a problem. I’m not finding a workable website or email address to contact them through. So if anyone is reading this that can do anything I would appreciate they would reach out to me! In the meantime I’m probably going to just have to switch to a different app.

  • You can’t export data, however It is a good app

    I have been handling all my personal finance through this app for several years, it is a great tool for it, but since a year I was not able to sync my devices, even log into your account was disabled.. due to this I could loss all my data, I was about to do some stuffs with my spends but now I can not.. I saw the team create a new app which is great because you pay a monthly or yearly fee for having a nice service an a awesome UI, but they should care the loyalty of the user who spend $5 for this pro app that is totally abandoned in the store.. at least allow us to sync devices or just export our data.. You will see not just me, a bunch of people will appreciate it.

  • Syncing issues are keeping this 3 stars instead of 5

    I have used this app for many years and I LOVE IT!!!!! The only reason I am giving it 3 stars instead of the 5 it deserves is because I am unable to use it along with my iPad. For many years I used this app on my phone. I recently purchased an iPad and for some reason all of my information is on it instead of in this phone. I still have all of my information, I didn’t lose any of it. However, I am unable to sync the two devices. I always keep my software up-to-date, so that shouldn’t be the problem. I’m open to suggestions. Again, I LOVE this app. It makes it so easy to keep track of my finances, it’s easy to use and I recommend it all the time.

  • Where is the support?

    This used to be a great app. It’s very nicely laid out and super easy to use. One of the biggest reasons though that I decided to buy this Pro version of the app is because I like the sync feature. I use this mainly on my iPad and I like to use it also on the go from time to time with my iPhone. When I get home I can sync my phone then sync my iPad and all of the transactions that I entered throughout the day are all there where they should be. Now it seems that the app has been abandoned by the subscription based app because the sync feature for me hasn’t worked since June 2020 and I have sent at least 2 support emails requesting a fix or even possible help thinking its possible the problem was on my end but I have not received a single response from the developer. My iPad OS and app software is always up to date so I’m pretty sure the problem is on their end because it has had problems in the past but until now has always been rectified.

  • Was great - not so much anymore

    I’ve been using this app since 2015 to balance my checkbook. I loved that I could create one account and both my husband and I could be logged into the account on our different devices and he could enter his spending and I could enter mine and everything would sync together. The last time his phone synced was 6/29 and the last time mine synced was 7/2. *Nothing* I do will get them to sync and see what we each have going on...which totally defeats my purpose and has me back to nagging him for receipts which he and I both hate.

  • Keep track

    I have had this app for years now. I started with the free one which ended up syncing once and lost all of my data which totally messed up my budgeting. The paid app has been better however if for some reason it logs you out (which it does on occasion and you don’t know till you go into settings and see it’s not logged in) when you sync it deletes all info you have put in since last sync. So if you go for even a day sometimes entering info and then notice it’s logged you out and you want to sync.... there goes all data you have entered. I think it should be set up to sync with the stuff you have entered or not allow you to input things unless logged in. This issue has caused many headaches for me.

  • Dramatically improved over older versions

    It’s funny how such a simple concept for an app is not only crucial to managing a checking account (if you care about avoiding bounded checks), but how there is really only one app (this one) that has mastered it.

    Try the free version, sure, but then buy the paid version. It is simple, exactly what a “checkbook” ledger should be, and is dramatically better than previous versions. Highly recommended.

    Oh, the ONLY thing I think could be improved (and this doesn’t affect my rating at all) is the ability to share this app across multiple iPhones. My spouse and I share this checking account so it would be nice to also share the updates I make to the ledger.

    This is the best checkbook ledger app for iPhone. No other app can so seamlessly, and with such simplicity, allow you to keep a perfect record of transactions, most importantly those that have not yet cleared. It is an indispensable tool for someone managing a household budget; you can easily copy the previous month’s transactions and plan ahead.

  • Review Update

    New: Apparently there was an update or sometime. I got onto the app today after doing so four days ago. For some unknown reason, I had to log in. I never have to do that. Then I found that the balance for the same period was now $400 lower than when I entered the information four days ago. I really hate this app. I can’t figure out how to delete entries. I can’t figure out how to print reports. There is no support. If you have a choice, select another one.

    Original review: I had to switch to using my iPad for my checking register. This one is sufficient to my needs, but I don’t love it. I wish there were a help feature. Also, at the end of the year, I really have to have a hard copy of some reports for tax purposes, and if there is a function to allow printing a copy, I can’t find it. I can’t really recommend this, but the one thing that it has going for it is that it is not complicated, and I don’t get distracted by too many graphics and colors.
