I wanted to like this...
Update: I upped it two stars because I started playing the second campaign which is more like X-com, my all time favorite game. And the fact the developers didn't charge anything for the upgrade. In addition, the soldiers in Onslaught are slightly bigger. II's well worth the price. If you're hesitating, hesitate no more. Get it.
But that whole line of sight thing was too frustrating. I couldn't tell if the alien was in sight or not until I tried to fire. But the alien always seemed to,have me in his sights. Just get rid of it. I appreciate you offering the second campaign as a free update. Bur the soldiers are too small and I can't tell line of sight.Show lessGatorguy113

The new update has made this game X-Com like and great a must play. The only thing so far I would change is the End Turn button should be on the main screen. I usually don't write on games but I will update this the more I play. Get the word out!!!!Show lessMadawg65

This is the update everyone has been waiting for! Simply incredible. Thank you so much. So far, I haven't found anything wrong. The control interface works well and this brings in the strategic aspect to help support the tactical aspect that the first part of the game had. Great stuff.Rogue428

Much better than the older version! Now much more similar to X-Com when I played it back in the day! Better graphics. Great turn based game! You can control your troops, use tactics, research, manufacture, budget, build! Good job guys! All on my iPhone!Mixedpuppy

They've really done a great job of making the interface work. I can't wait to see the game fleshed with more X-Comm features.
A few suggestion though: Lower the price to 99 cents and make a 1 level demo. More people will be willing to take a chance with a demo and lower price.
Also, as has been previously stated, change the name. I almost skipped it entirely without reading the description because the name didn't reflect how closely this models X-Comm battles. Make it X-Commander or something along those lines.

The cure for xcom
AvH is a fantastic remedy for those who really enjoyed any of the original xcom games. I hope that they work on the equipment screen in mission, seems that the only thing you can pickup are flares. I can't wait for the update, can't wait to see the base defense missions and hope that they address the aspects of managing the base and money that were present in xcomShow lessKamaldo
Faithful to x-com
This is a fantastic game that attempts to relive the awesome days of xcom in the '90s! There's some differences and still a lot missing before it can truly be like xcom. The game needs more specific soldier options, a geoscape and base building - which is reportedly coming. At the very least it's a fun casual tactical game. Great strategy game
This is a great app it's well worth the money because unlike most other apps this one you will actually go back and play again after the first couple of days plus the new updates will further improve an already great game I'm looking forward to the bases and research coming in the next update I hope this game will continue to grow and developShow lessPieguys

I was really happy to find this but a little disappointed to play it. it does need the Geoscape/Base portion of the game to really bring it home for me...plus I miss the old aliens a little...these just look like zombies so far. also i think the retro graphics are a little too retro...even further back than xcom itself...kind of Atari-ish. also i think the interface could be a little cleaner...Overall I'm very excited that this is being done...I've always said I'd be willing to pay $10 for the real full xcom on iPad and if further improvements are made to this one I'd gladly pay more...but it needs work.Show lessBhermes123
Great fun
They've taken the best parts of the classic X-COM and added a few touches of their own (with more to come, I hope). It's great how nervous you get about walking down that little alley, wondering if it's a fatal trap!
