Subscription Ruined Fishbrain
It is just unbelievable how many features are locked behind their subscription. It keeps getting worse and worse and even the most simple features are completely unusable because you have to pay for them. This would even be fine, and I would even consider paying if it weren’t for the fact that it used to be FREE and also the fact their subscription is $80/year MINIMUM. They claim that the paywall is necessary to maintain and improve the app but that doesn’t change the fact that everything that made the app great is locked behind a completely overpriced subscription. I am also skeptical of their reasoning because $80/year (or $156/year if you pay monthly) seems completely unjustified for an app of this size. At this point if you don’t want to pay for their subscription, the app boils down to Instagram with fish (but it also lacks many of instagram’s great features). I hope they eventually listen to their customer base and do something about it this but I know they won’t.Show lessZackB33

Fishbrain’s free version can log catches, chart your fishing progress, and engage with other anglers. You can also follow specific waters and species from all over the world for free, as well. Some of our features are extra complex and require more resources to maintain which therefore has to be a part of the Fishbrain Pro package, which is necessary for us to be able to provide value for anglers – both today and tomorrow. I used to absolutely love this app being a 16 year old kid. I would go to south carolina and use it to help me in a location I didnt know where to fish. I cant afford a big monthly or yearly pay but the free version was nice it let u see catches near by. and see what their catching and thats all I needed. But nowadays they removed all that u have to pay 70! dollars a year just to see catches and to even have a marker on ur screen. Idc what anyone says this company is just a money grab. they would rather make money then helping a fishing community who just needs help finding spots. it used to be the best app to ever exist their wasnt a app like it because others made u pay for the catches log and to see what they caught and etc. but now they are just like the other silly little fishing apps. Im moving on and praying someday someone makes a app for fishing like fishbrain thats free for the fishing community. I just might make one just to run fish-brain out for their money grab mindset. If the developers needed money they could have went about it in a different way like ads or running sponsorships but now this company is slowly going to rot into a little company nobody cares about. This app is amazing! I do not know how I went fishing without it. I did not get Fishbrain pro yet, but Fishbrain is still very helpful without it! The only recommendation I have is to tell what time and what month the fish come out! Fishbrain might have this feature and I still don’t know yet! There is a bunch of good features and anglers that are happy to share their catch. I am planning a deep sea fishing trip and I am planning to log all my fish on Fishbrain! I would just like to share one more thing. I clicked on a river to see what fish live in there, and it said Mahi Mahi live in there. What? I thought Mahi Mahi (Dorado or Dolphinfish) live in saltwater. But anyways, great app! I have only logged three fish so far and many people already liked them! I love how friendly this community is!
