  • This app is better then taking a class!!! Worth the $$$

If you are learning to shot in manual this is a great tool.
  • Just what I needed!

I have watched dozens of videos online, purchased 3 basic photography instructional videos, 2 books and 2 apps but none of them helped me understand what it took to shoot on Manual mode, they helped, but not as much as I wanted. This app truly helped me understand and practice on all 3 modes! I got to practice in different light situations, a most to master exposure. I love it. Please update to get more subjects in different settings. Thanks
  • Should be $0.99

This is a descent app. However at $1.99 price tag I feel it is a bit over priced. This app is for the extreme beginner who doesn't have an understanding of the shooting triangle (ISO, Shutter speed, Aperture). Using your DSLR you can achieve the same thing by changing the settings and looking at your own pictures.
  • Not bad

Great learning app. I would like to see more creative examples, for intentional blurring of moving subjects and night shots.
  • Keeps crashing!

I love the online version, bit this app keeps crashing any time I mark adjustments to distance/focal length.
  • Not working on iPhone 4 nor the iPad 3

Great app but needs more variations of assignments.
  • Great app!

I love this app. This is my 35 year as an art teacher and my first year as a photo teacher. This app provides me and my students an opportunity to get experience using aperture, shutter speed priority or manual with a total understanding of all the variables such as lens length, iso, lighting conditions etc. and then gives immediate results with a photo that lets you know see and understand if the photo was successful and why. The results also lists the selected aperture or shutter speed you used and what you need to do to make a successful photo. If you are using film, this will save you tons of time and money. This app is awesome!
  • Perfect app ... well almost

I have always loved this on the web. Glad to see it as an app now. If I may request one change can you also provide a landscape view this would be helpful in connecting to an external monitor. Thanks love the app.
  • Good idea, Poor execution

I saw that this guy was looking to do a Kickstarter for a Version 2.0 of this app. I was interested, so I figured I'd try 1.0 out.

The idea this app brings is great! However, I would like to see more scenarios then a picture perfect day. Anybody can take a good shot when the conditions are in their favor but how about a photo inside an opera house without flash, or a birthday party as the candles are blown out. Unfortunately, the developers didn't think that far and only offer one photo to.

As for how well the app works, one word. Crash. The app froze my iPad no once, not twice, but three times upon operation. So bad that I had to do a hard reboot (where you hold down the button until it just turns off without the "are you sure" slider. Once I was in the app, at one point, that ONE photo...froze as well so I was shooting blind. Sigh...

Something that would be great for this app to include, is an ability to take photos of different scenarios like I said before and also the ability to turn the camera on the back of my iPad into a DSLR style. In other words, have it be able to control the shutter speed, ISO, apeture (probably would have to be simulated) and White balance with DSLR like controls this way, I can practice in the app, and then out of the app (sorta).

In conclusion, I want my money back. Not only is this app not worth the two dollars I paid, but the quality isn't either. And the fact that the '2.0' is in the works tells me that there aren't going to be any updates coming to this version in the future which even further annoys me.
  • Great app, but more subjects to photo would be better

Great app, thanks for explaining basics of photography. But I also want to mention, that more subjects to photo would be better: add some sports, mountains etc.
