    Incredible!
  • Great features in Iflightplanner 2.0

The new features in 2.0 of highlighting the airspace is fantastic! Makes for much easier flight planning. The voice recorder auto pause is equally great for hearing back transmissions. A great improvement is the zoom level and clarity of the charts.
Overall 2.0 is a great upgrade and great resource in the aircraft.

  • Great Update!

Fantastic update from the previous version to the 2.0! In app planning is a major step forward with tons of great little add ons to this version that make it easier to use and more user friendly. Plus...I gotta love the addition of a timer on the approach plates.
  • Great App

I have used apps like this that charge money to use. Thankfully it was just a trial because this app has everything you you need and I would hate paying for that. Looking forward to the updates! It can only get better.
  • Cannot plan flight on iPad

After downloading enough data to make this work...you can only actually plan a flight on a real computer and not on an iPad.. You can then sync to your pad but what good is that if you are mobile, have a change of flight plans ...They say in development. What a bad joke....
  • A Must Have!

iFlightPlanner is quickly becoming my favorite Flight Planner, inflight use for charts; ie. Lo Alt, Hi Alt, Sectional and of course approach plates! It just works and works well! Best of all, it's FREE! There are some additional features the user may purchase to gain access to more than five aircraft profiles or weight and balance calculations. However, the FREE version is certainly more than adequate for any type of navigation from a a single engine piston to a high altitude flying Jet!

I haven't had any issues but I have suggested a few additions to the app that would be nice and the customer support has been phenomenal!
The Customer Supprt is almost immediate!

    Great work Sennheiser!

  • Terrific Apps

This application is great. Especially the chart section. I'm an AGI at the local Community College and I WILL use this as a teaching device next semester.
  • Crashed initially, but there is an easy fix

I initally rated this 1 star and then got a personal email with an apology and a suggested fix that worked like a charm. All I had to do was delete it and redownload. It works perfectly again! I said when I left the 1 star that I would re-rate once it was fixed and while it isn't "fixed" yet, they are aware of it and I was able to get it to work. I believe it still rates a good review.

  • Crashes

This was a great app until the new version. It does not work anymore on my IPad 2. Every time I try to open the app it crashes. I can not even get to the home screen!
  • Great app, love the interface

I've been using iFlightPlanner since spring 2011 through their web interface and am SO excited to finally see this app in real life. During Oshkosh 2011 I had the chance to meet John and Andy, Founders of iFlightPlanner, and they demonstrated the proof of concept on this application. Needless to say I was in love.

Truth be told, while ForeFlight is a good flight planning software, they're not the only game in town. One of my favorite iFlightPlanner features that ForeFlight doesn't have is the ability to do flight planning on your computer, away from your iPad and then sync it to your mobile device at a later time. Why is that cool? For a multitude of reasons like you're leaving the FBO or restaurant after your $100 hamburger journey and you left the iPad in the airplane. You can do all the planning you need form the FBO computer and then hit the sync button within the app when you return to the airplane.

My first recommendation would be to signup for the free iFlightPlanner account on their website and learn how to navigate the service, create flight plans, and get a feel for how everything works. Then you can download the app to your iPad and you'll be better prepared to use the flight planning sync function.

Second, I'd like to point out that the app is new and with new software there's always bound to be bugs and issues. One thing I can tell you from personal experience is that the customer service from the guys at iFlightPlanner is really second to none. I had some issues with the internet interface and received near instantaneous email alerts from the owner himself advising me of the bugs and the steps they were taking to fix them. Then they'd email me again after the issues were fixed. The other flight planning guys don't deliver customer service like that!

So if you're having problems with the iPad app I'd suggest emailing their support department and filling them in on the issues you're having.

I really don't think I need to explain the app itself as it's more of an iPad interface to their website service so check out the site, use it, get to know it, and try the iPad app. You've got nothing to lose, it's free. It's a great product and well on it's way to competing with the flight planning big boys in no time!
