  • Burning the money tree

Do you wanna know how you ruin a great app and throw away some money? follow these guys cause they’re doing it well. I love this app most features anyways I paid for the best service. This whole year has been great. Start noticing the last few months. a lot of people aren’t on it any more. Come to find out they have taken away about everything there is for the free service. They wanna make more money and get it but you gotta give them something that will get people a reason to use it. Then I find out tonight that the bowling alleys are supposed to pay them a monthly fee to be a part of it. I believe it should be the other way around. what incentive does the bowling alley have for paying Lanetalk for the service? I see a bunch of incentive for lane talk to pay the bowling alleys. If I was the bowling alley, I wouldn’t give a single red scent to lane talk. I’ve been trying to decide if I was going to let them charge me for another year subscription but Im thinking that no I’m not going to. good luck lane talk your going to need it the way you have been going.

Hi Ernest, thank you very much for your feedback. We currently receive more than 1 million games every day so it's costly to continue to host and develop the app. We are not charging any center to use our services. It's provided for free to everyone. However, there are one scoring system that continue to charge a monthly fee to their customers to send the scoring data to LaneTalk. We don't get a penny of that. We have an increasing number of paying subscribers that enjoy the app. If you have ideas on how we can improve, please let us know, support@lanetalk.com, thanks!
  • They made free version basically useless

They made the free version basically useless cause you can’t even see all your games app is very glitchy will get annoyed with it just keep a sheet with all your scores cause without paying for membership you won’t get anything out of it

Thank you for your feedback. Many users appreciate the Live scoring feature and the ability to get stats on their latest 6 games which is included in the free version. For only $1.99/month, you can get access to all insights and stats. You can try it for free during 30 days and see if you like it. Thank you for using the app.
  • Version 4.12.6 issues

After the update when I try to “add games” the app crashes and closes. Please fix asap

    All fixed thanks ✌🏼

Hi, a updated version is on the way to be released this week that hopefully solve that issue. Thanks!
  • Waste of time

Ive had the app for the last couple years. It was a great app and wonderful to show as much data as it did. Then they switched to a subscription based model. Locking your bowling data behind a paywall.. well I can see it, and it’s not terribly expensive. My bigger concern is watching live games if you have not subscribed. Watching my nieces scores during the junior gold tournament, I’m having to wait 15 seconds every single minute because of a pop up asking me to subscribe. She hasn’t made it two frames before this pops up and there’s only 4 girls to a pair.

Getting people to subscribe because of an annoyance factor instead of the benefit of the data the app offers shows a better understanding that it’s a complete money grab app. And after reading the recent reviews, it shows.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed the free version of the Live scoring, while you had to watch some ads when you enjoyed the free service. That is a very common solution (cable tv, youtube and other apps) to get the funding that is needed to operate and further develop the platform. It's only $3/month for a subscription which is a lot less than other services are charging for live scores and similar services.
  • Must have for any bowler

Automatically connects to the lane and records scores, shows your weaknesses and strengths to help you advance to the next average tier. It goes further than scores, it also records pocket hits and your leaves. All you have to do is go to your alley and pick your lane and name after throwing once. The app told me my weaknesses were opens, spare shooting, and hitting 9+ pins and my strengths were strike rate and carry. My old bowling app had you punch in the scores manually and you can add in all the advanced stuff like pocket hits if you want, and it didn’t have the comparison stuff.

  • Useful tool for any bowler

I really like the app, just got set up and exploring through it, I just wish my league updated my complete winter league results, so now I will have to go in and manually punch in my scores to get my true numbers for my stats, that’s okay though.

I like the fact it shows you frame by frame and pin layout of what you bowled, picked up, and missed on frames.

Look forward to using more features on this app to track my progress and look forward to getting more out of it.

  • Valuable tool and keeps getting better

This app is a dream come true for someone interested in just saving their scores to those who want to analyze their game in some detail, especially those whose game needs work like mine does. I can say 100% my game has improved using the LaneTalk app since it made clearer what the big shortcomings were in my game and where I should focus. That drove me to find solutions and practice techniques to improve. I also enjoy seeing my improving stats which rewards my efforts. I’ve found the support team very helpful and responsive with fixes and improvements. Well worth the subscription price for me.

  • This app is why we have technology!

I was born with bowling in my blood! I have always felt the need to have something I can collect data with and analyze after my bowling games, league or otherwise. Some games are strictly learning so being able to add specific games to my stats is absolutely essential for me to have accurate data, which this app provides in every level of needs! Looking forward to the future of this app!

  • It was good but now it’s terrible

I’ve been using lane talk for the past 2 years so I have tons of saved games and I don’t pay any money at that time I would have given it a 5 star rating because of how much data it told you you could see all your past games the spars you missed you spare ration your pocket hit ratio how clean or unclean your ball was but now they have locked all of the data behind a pay wall which is fine I guess but it does bring it down to a 3 star app because in the long run I got it to keep track of my games but now they made the one thing making this app good locked behind a pay wall now you can only see your past 2 days worth of games and in order to see all your past data you need to pay for a subscription so now I am forced to get the subscription or loose my past 2 years worth of games so overall don’t buy the app find a different one

Thank you for your feedback. We offer a subscription to see your scores, advanced stats and insights from only $2/month. Freemium users are allowed to see their last 6 games for free, which is typically 2 weeks of league bowling for most of our users.
  • Great app and growing…

Lanetalk is awesome. Keeps track of all games you want. Gives you a ton of insights from tracking your games, and you get access to different pros who give their tips and tricks to help give you a better edge.

The only problem with the app is that it’s buggy. Live tracking needs some work. I’ve had some issues with adding games.

They also added more paid options to access more options, so I’m sure this will help with resolving bugs and enhancing features.

Thank you very much for your high rating. Some time ago we decided to remove the live tracking because the center scoring system is not always sending us live data, which is creating a bad experience for the user. We tell our users to use the Add Games feature instead, to add the games when they are completed. That feature is not as dependent on live data, hence it works better. If you find other areas on improvements, please reach out to support@lanetalk.com so that we can get noticed to fix them. Thank you very much for using the app!
