Beginners, not for you. (No standard keypad)
Guys, I really want to learn how to type on a standard keyboard so could you please make it so you can learn on one?

You can use a 'normal' external Bluetooth keyboard with the app.

I love this app. If you find the disappearing keys frustrating, you can set them so that they don't. I think the app is brilliant for learning to touch type on an iPad and is great for single handed typists too. It is possible to use the app with an external keyboard. Very versatile and great for improving speed and accuracy no matter which keyboard you are using.

Ghost type
This app is frustrating and unfair.
It gave my daughter incorrect marks which was discouraging and frustrating for her .

Later versions of the app fixed any of these problems.
Progress not recorded
The typing test/lessons are working but the app does not recognise when you are completed anything. It just says "Not Completed" against all items. I tried restarting my iPad but it is still a broken app I am afraid.

The ability to create my own typing lessons and sage them sets this app apart!
Waste of money
If you want this app to learn how to type, don't waste your money. It doesn't do the basic one or two letters at a time, it gives you whole words and sentences to type, too confusing for young kids or anyone without experience. I made up my own lesson for the f and j key, but they disappeared after about a week.

You can create your own lessons as one letter at a time. That is part of the power of this app as you can create your own typing lessons.
Locks up on lessons
The lessons lockup after typing for a while. Tried to reset to the home page and start again but the lessons still locked up. I am using a Pocketfish iCapsule external keyboard with a Bluetooth Link. The program recognizes the external keyboard but does not recognize the dash ( - ) in the typing exercises. For the price, the program is adequate for basic typing practice and skill development, however, using an external keyboard stills needs further development. Two stars rating, more when the glitches get fixed.

Now I am typing faster
A brilliant app and the ghosting keyboard certainly enhances the ability to learn where the keys are. I was also delighted that I could create my own lessons. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to improve their iPad typing skills.

My 3 kids have not put this app down.
The oldest is creating lessons for the others and testing and marking them.

Fun AND educational
Congratulations on a great app.. As a touch typist on a standard keyboard it is sometimes a struggle to translate that skill to the iPad, but just a short time on Ghost Type has already retuned my brain to be faster and more accurate than I would have imagined... Anyone using an iPad, adult or child will benefit greatly from this app.
