Best stand alone player-needs work

This is the best stand-alone player for audiobooks. It is easy to use, but has one major flaw- no way to skip to the next or previous chapters. It has a jump to time feature which is fine if you actually know which minute and hour you are on (almost never). It also has a pretty useless forward 15 sec/ backward 15 sec feature.

All of this make for a frustrating experience if the app crashes and you lose your place, causing you to re-open the book and guess the exact time where left off then skip around 15 seconds at a time until you hear something familiar. Still after all these flaws it is better than any other audiobook player out there.

Good, perfect with a bit more work

Great little app, especially for listening to audio books in the car. It does though have issues with not remembering where you're up to in a book though. I find I sometimes have to go to the menu and refresh books for it to remember.

My first audio book app ...

But won't be my last. Afraid u have to seek out another because I just discovered it doesn't start reading where I left last when I close the app. Seems like a no brained in an audio book app, but there's not even a bookmark feature. Simplicity is great, but it needs one more feature.

Nice little app

Simple and easy to use.

Abysmal!

I never write reviews, but the sheer uselessness of this app compelled me to warn others to not waste their time on it.

The sole purpose of the app is to create bookmarks for audiobooks and podcasts; it fails to do this. Three out of the the four times I used it, it restarted my audiobook to the very beginning. Then again, perhaps the app is designed to only work on every 4th use?

Utter rubbish and, incidentally, the ugliest interface I've ever seen.

Just what I wanted!

Really don't like the built in player. This app works great for audiobooks

Does what it's supposed to do

Easy to use. Would be perfect if there was a way to remember the last spot in the audiobook if the app is closed. I can't always remember where I last was when I was listening to my book and it's a pain to scroll to the spot in a 15 hour book every time. A bookmark feature would be perfect.

Too basic

Sorry guys, but even a simplistic media player should have basics such as a sleep timer and the ability to view and select chapters.

It also has bugs ...the skip to time feature doesn't work. I tried to advance 1 hour and the player continued to play from where it last left off at the first chapter.... and the player frequently defaults to the beginning of chapter 1 on reopening, after the player is closed.

I've been annoyed for a few years now that I haven't been able to listen to my audiobooks without making a playlist, because the iPad music app disregards album disc numbers. When I open a multidisc story, it lists tracks like: 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3. I was looking for solutions to this problem, and discovered this app. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it plays all the discs/tracks in order automatically. THANK YOU!!!
