Disappointed Player
I have had this app shut down on me at least 10 times in just a couple of days. When I start it back up any tech purchases I have made are invalid and had the be redone along with any projects I have had my villagers start. And the food count is also affected when the game just decides to shutdown. I will keep trying and hopefully it gets fixed. I have tried deleting and redownloading about 4 times, and it doesn’t seem to help. I have tried playing this game several times since my first review. On 11/19 the game shut done 4 or 5 times in a short time, each time when I reopen the game it’s as if it went back in time. Each time all of the numbers reduce, such as villager numbers, food, tech points and all the progress on constructions and skills.

Nostalgic
The only reason I got an iPad was to play the virtual villagers games again. They were always my favourite on PC as a little kid and recently I’ve had such an itching to play all the chapters again at 22 years old! I’ve missed it so much! I managed to complete the puzzles pretty quickly, and I’m looking forward to playing the other chapters!

If you buy upgrades the game crashes
I bought upgrades it was fine overnight and then game kept crashing after one minute play. Wasted money.
Incredible Game, Miss the Original Artstyle
I found this game again after DECADES of forgetting it existed and was astonished to see that I enjoyed just as much as I did when I found it as a kid. My only complaint is that I feel like the original artstyle, which was extremely cartoony and inviting, complimented what the game was much more and am wondering if there is anything I can do to get my hands on that version of the game?

Love this game but...
I just bought a few upgrades (double tech and double food) and then the game glitched and now doesn’t open anymore. I was pretty far as I spend money on extra 10,000 tech points too. I can’t even restart it because it doesn’t open. So I wasted $6 on the game now.
Incredibly slow
I understand the game wanting to be a long-term goal, buts it’s INCREDIBLY slow. I even bought some tech points, hoping to speed the process but it hardly did anything. If the huts are built and river is cleared — your builders will never progress as there is nothing for them to do. Tech points take FOREVER to accumulate, so maybe just check back in two weeks and hopefully there MIGHT be a good sum, but never enough as leveling up costs 160k+ tech points. Everyone will more than likely die before you ever get too far.
I wouldn’t play it again, let alone purchase anything. This a “download and I’ll check back in a month” kind of game.

LDW GAMES
I love love love this game the very first time I played these games was back in the days before you could buy your resources or tokens. Back then you had to figure out how to solve the puzzles. I got through all of the games and now I am starting over to solve the puzzles again. LDW GAMES ARE by far the best adventure games
P.S for all of you players if you go to settings you can slow the game mode down (or speed it up) that way your village won’t starve if you have to stay away from the game for a while. ie.. if you work and can only spend short periods of time in the game…. I hope this helps

Love this game
I love this game. This game will always have a special place to me. My mother loved all of the virtual villagers games. Every single one. She would play on her PC. Every time a new one came out we got it for her. This one was her favorite. She passed away 2 years ago. I did not realize these games were available for mobile until just the other day. I was so excited! I immediately thought of her and how she used to get so excited about her villagers mastering tasks or figuring out a puzzle. Anyway, this game is awesome and I’m glad it’s still available. Please make more!

Riddled with bugs
This version is THICK with bugs, and the bugs obviously seem to be designed to encourage purchases. For one thing the game does not pause, it says it pauses, but it does not pause, period, you pause with 1200 food, leave and come back and there's no food and 3 people are dead? How? It was paused. I'm deleting this, there should be a part of the apple store where you can report apps for behavior like this and they can mass refund customers and ban apps that are broken and ban creators after making too many broken products. I won't buy any more products with in app purchases from this maker because they either don't care that their product is broken or they broke it on purpose. Gross behavior. Also wanna add the people claiming it isn't broken are clearly paid to say that, what they're saying doesn't make sense. Unless you pay for double food it will randomly run out even if ALL your villagers are tasked on it, 10 people collecting food and they still ran out? Kinda sounds like a DELIBERATE bug to me. Meanwhile I play the paid versions of these games for $2 and there are no such bugs in any of those games. Weird, it's almost like the proof is in the pudding.

Great but brief…
This is an enjoyable little game - it’s not difficult, but the puzzles aren’t too easy either. It’s fun, whilst it lasts, but once all of the puzzles are complete, there’s very little to do other than just watch your villagers grow old, perhaps reproduce, and repeat.
