Love hate relationship with this app
I love this app bc it gives you a lot of flexibility in creating your run walk intervals. However, while using this, what throws me off are the freaking, annoying, and distracting pop up ads that literally cover the entire timer screen. As a result, one needs to check the timer, stop running and click on the ‘x’ on the corner of the app to close the 😤🤬pop up in order to view the current time.
I’m using this timer to train for the New York City Marathon but using the Galloway method. I was planning on using this app as my timer so I wouldn’t need to wear the literal Gymboss timer on my wrist.
It’s very frustrating. I just did a speed workout and I had to stop running to “uncover” the screen to view the timer. However, due to the stop and start issues with this app, I beginning to have 2nd thoughts about the efficacy of it.
Just so you know, I paid full price for it. If a person pays full price, I really think it’s fair to say that the developer of the GYMBoss app should REMOVE the pop up ads. Please consider doing this.

Outdated technology
Does not work when screen is in lock mode. You have to have your phone unlocked and screen on for it to work. Totally useless.
Has served me well for years!
I replaced my old wrist/velcro-style (yep!) GymBoss with the app version many years ago. It has been awesome for all my various workouts. I love that you can just rename a timer and it auto-creates a new one that can be modified. There’s been several improvements over the years. I have probably 30 timers and I’m always tweaking them or adding new ones. I don’t know what I’d do without this app!!

You wrecked my app!
Have loved this app for years! Sadly, it’s just useless space in my phone now. As others have noted, timer won’t work with other apps running or when screen locks. Occasionally switches out sounds. Occasionally signals 2 separate intervals within a couple seconds. Then it won’t beep at all…until you stop the timer. Then it resumes beeping. Given that it appears these problems started with an update a year ago, the developer have decided this isn’t the career for them. Sad to say I’m moving on. Bye, boss.

Not the best
If you’re going to use GymBoss, go to their website and buy a GymBoss. This app will not sound off unless you take your phone off of silent. If the screen times out(even if you lock the screen) there’s no notification alert. My coworkers and I utilize GymBoss at work because we have visual rounds to conduct at specific times and it’s very loud so we can’t miss it. But this app fails to meet the standards of an actual GymBoss. Fix these issues and I’ll write another review with 11 stars.

Very Useful
I love this app. It's very useful and versatile. You can create your own timer with the parameters you need in addition to using the pre-programmed timers provided. I do not mind the ads at all and they are, for the most part, unobtrusive. Thank you for creating this app, it has been and continues to be a huge help for me.

The best app when a timer is needed, especially for martial arts. Free, easy to use, reliable.
Was a great App
Was a great App when I first started using it on my iPad. However, I have been disappointed since the buzzer notification that indicates a change in exercise or Set no longer works. I have been unable to triage the problem to store the buzzer sound. Until this is rectified I would not recommend this App, which is a shame as it was really good before this occured.

A shame.
I like the app - used gymboss timers before. I thought it could be programmed for the music to fade/stop at the end of a set. Apparently I was wrong.
