Great until iPhone 6
This app was really great until I upgraded my phone to iPhone 6. Please update.
Connection
Works with iOS 8.1 iPhone and iPad. Transfer photos fast, selections are easy. Connection won't work if wifi requires a check mark agreement or anything else other than just SSID and password.
Functional but deeply flawed
After a lot of stuffing around and sheer stubbornness, trying the same thing over and over again, I finally got it connected to my iPhone 5 running iOS 8.1.2.
I cannot however get it to connect to my iPad mini with Retina display running iOS 8.1.2 or my wife's iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1.2.
And the response from Canon support when seeking help was extremely disappointing. They told me it "It could be a software compatibility with the iPad mini with Retina display. Should you continue having issues using the application on your iPad, please kindly contact Apple."
Really Canon?!? You expect the Apple Genius Bar to sort out an issue with your app?!
The app might be free but it's required to access key advertised features of my G7X camera like GPS and photo importing!
Please fix it or confirm there are issues and you are working on it!

App works
App ok.. Most complicated th gd is to get it to link to ur iPhone.
Not apparent, but first u link do is press phone button on camera, this gives u the wifi name of the camera.
Then link iphone wifi to camera as a hotspot using the id shown on camera.
Then go to all and connect. U r good to go then!

Would love to use the app if it worked with the latest iOS. Please update so I can use it.
Amazing, Could Use More Stuff
I love this app, but it could use more stuff like...
-taking a video of what your seeing, not just pictures.
-maybe some special effects and/or enhancements

No problems here
Camera connects as intended and all works fine for me. Can browse camera photos on my phone as remotely take pictures. I think camera needs to be registered first maybe?
Fails to work with latest iOS 8.1.1
What a let down. Spent $800+ on a Canon G7X so I can use Camerawindow to instantly transfer images to my iPhone. Turns out, CW does not work with the latest iOS 8.1.1. Checked version history and sure enough, Canon barely even update this app.
What happened!
I've been happily showing off my new canon camera and app for months. It has been so good to instantly share photos or videos. You can send them individually or in bulk.
All good until.. One day I opened the app and it couldn't connect to my camera and my camera was waiting for the phone to find it. The next time I opened the app it was blank- all the commands had gone and I'm just faced with a green screen. I don't know how I can fix this and now my new camera is only as good as my old one as I have to get it to a PC to share photos.
Sooooo disappointed and I don't even know where to go for help:(

Works fine with ios8
Yes, the app is basic, but it does work. You get full quality images transferred to you iphone or iPad provided you click into settings on the app and select "don't resize".
The remote shooting option worked fine for me, as did viewing images from the camera and downloading images from the camera to my iPhone or iPad.
The only annoyance for me so far is that to download images from the camera you have to do it one at a time - this really needs to be changed so that you can download all photos if you wish without having to individually select them, like you can with a computer.
