I bought this App for a trip to Italy. It can do simple English to Italian translation. More complex sentences came out awkwardly. It could not translate Italian to English. The voice input worked sporadically. The function for taking pictures of signs and translating never worked. I went to their support site and asked for help and never received a reply.

This app is useless. If you don't want to be laughed at by an Italian, don't use it. It will sometimes get a one-word translation right though.

Instead of a phrasebook?
Spent 3 weeks in Italy and wanted to use this instead of a phrasebook. Unfortunately, out of about 20 or 30 tries with short phrases and words, it provided a useful result only about one time in five. Many times it just gave me the same Italian word back instead of English. I'm back to using a book.
In fairness, some of the translation requests - like trying to understand the settings on a washing machine - were not in the phrasebook either.
